OlderTaylor Swift Talks Kanye West VMAs Incident
At Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift was interrupted by Kanye West during her acceptance speech for Best Female Video to say that Beyonce deserved to win. The 19-year-old country cutie opened up to reporters about the incident.
“Well, I was standing on stage because I was really excited because I had just won the award,” she said. “And then I was really excited because Kanye West was on stage. And then I wasn’t so excited anymore after that.”
Added Taylor, “I’ve been getting so many text messages and everybody’s been really nice. So I’ve had a really, really fun night. It’s been interesting definitely. It’s definitely been an interesting night… I don’t know him, and I’ve never met him, so… I don’t want to start anything because I had a great night tonight.”
When Beyonce won for Video of the Year, she let Taylor have the spotlight during her acceptance speech.
“They told me to stand by the side of the stage, and I didn’t really know what was going to go down,” Taylor said. “But I thought it was so wonderful and gracious of her to do what she’s always done. She’s always been a great person before anything else. Before the talented artist, the superstar, she’s always been a great person and I just, I thought I couldn’t love Beyonce more tonight, than tonight.”

So Beyonce’s graciousness was planned. Well, either way I’m glad Taylor got a do over! Not the same as the first time around, but she came out the big winner last night!

Taylor Swift handled this incident graciously and with class, as did Beyonce. Kanye needs to learn him some class, because the man keeps putting his feet in his mouth wherever he goes. Or maybe he needs therapy, I don’t know, point is he needs to stop doing this to other artists. We get he’s outspoken, but now he’s just being a complete *******.
It’s a good thing Kanye’s mother isnt alive to see what a waste of human he’s become.

After the next category Beyonce told the producer she wants to give Taylor a chance to have a proper acceptance speech, if she wins.So they knew that Beyonce will win, and told Swift to be prepared backstage, what is wrong with that? It does NOT take away from the fact that Beyonce choose to do it, she couldnt have just said thank you and left, so please haters get a life.And i aint even a B fan, damn some bitter people!!

I guess Beyonce informed the producers to have her stand by the stage. How sweet of her.
What upsets me the most is that nobody’s gonna talk about the amazing tribute to MJ by Janet, or Lady Gaga’s outrageous performance, or Pink’s crazy ass trapezist swag, or even Russel Brand, who never fails to amaze me with the new kind of douchebagness of his. No, all we will talk and remember about this epic night, is this a-hole of Kanye West humiliating a young artist on live television, because he couldn’t keep his ego tucked in his trousers.
I like Kanye West’s music, I find it entertaining. Taylor Swift, not so much. But last night, the Douchebag made me want to vomit in my mouth…. Not a fan anymore. And props to Taylor and Beyoncé, they handled everything so gracefully.

Money does not buy class. Even a child would know that is not something you do. What did he think it was? A Jerry Springer show? Kudos to Taylor Swift for handling this whole brouhaha with so much class. Kanye, you weren’t even up for this award but you’ve certainly lost big time.
Gracious Taylor Swift handled it beautifully. Classy Beyonce handled it morally. Both are upstanding human beings. It’s a shame the likes of Kanye will continue to stir the race divide in this country.
I think Beyonce and Taylor Swift should record a song together.

There is no race divide. There are differences of opinions on most issues. In this case however, this issue is race transcendant with Kanye West near universally deplored for what he did.

I KNOW they had major damage control to do for Beyonce being embarrassed by Kayne.She has a great fashion line in major stores and good reputation.
If Beyonce had not won,she would have released a big statement in favor of Tyalor and yeah,clearing herself from Kayne’s rudeness.
