Katherine Heigl leaves her hotel with her parents and newly adopted daughter Naleigh Kelley on Tuesday (September 15) in Atlanta, Georgia.
Everyone was headed to the set of Katie‘s new romantic comedy Life As We Know It. Also starring in the Greg Berlanti-directed flick: Josh Lucas, Josh Duhamel and Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks.
Mom Nancy is Katie‘s personal manager. Dad Paul is a financial executive/accountant.

I think it’s nice that people adopt kids from other countries especially if there in poverty but i swear i think celebs are racist toward amercian kids. They may have it better but that doesn’t mean they don’t want a mom and dad!!!!!
she has already said this is something she has always wanted to do. she has a sister who is adopted from korea. don’t accuse her of copying anyone. thousands of people adopt for reasons of their own.
i believe her sister was adopted from Korea, and she felt like doing like her parents so it would be another way to connect to her sister. you guys are lame as hell.
@renelucky7, She adopted Naleigh from KOREA, and she chose Korea because Katherine has a sister that was adopted from Korea in the 70′s.. Watch Katherine’s appearance on Ellen Degeneres’ show. She explained it. Dont say things like that. Thats rude..

She got a baby girl from Korea because her parents adopted her sister Margaret from Korea and she wanted to do the same thing. That’s just beautiful. Kudos to Katherine. And no, I am not a fan of hers.

Am I understanding this right, she’s filming a movie at the same time that she received her adopted Korean daughter? I guess the maternal feelings haven’t set in yet for Katherine. Coming from a family who adopted a Korean child, there is a difficult transition period – first getting the baby used to the time difference, and then getting the child used to its new and strange surroundings and people that are now their family. Bad timing for adopting a child.
It’s good that little girl will have someone to love and care for her and not be stuck in an orphange….a really sad situation.
So, you negative people………..grow up and get a heart or two

when you file papers for an adoption, you do not know exactly how long the process will take. obviously she’d commited to a project before she knew when her child would arrive. she has also said her adoption was expedited possibly because they chose to adopt a child with special needs. just because some of you can never imagine loving a child not of your flesh and blood does not give you the right to judge others who can.

river- its not for YOU to say about the timing, You have no clue what is involved with their lives….so, don’t make a fool of yourself any more.
It’s wonderful that a child has been adopted and will be able to live a real life outside an orphange.
She got a korean baby because she has an adopted korean sister. If your whole life revolves around Angelina Jolie, you’re very very sad.

I’ve never adopted a kid before, so I don’t know alot about it, but I have heard alot of horror storys about the American adoption system. It can be a nightmare, American judges are known to give the kid back to the biological parents if they can find any loopholes. I would never adopt an American kid, judges can’t be trusted with your heart. There is a famous case, I think baby M where they came and took the baby away from the adopted parents and also a case where the biological mother was given the baby back from the adopted parents and she hung him. I think this is the reason so many people even every day citizens adopt out of this country.

Just an innocent question, no harm intended: I know Katherine said that Naleigh is a special needs baby. Does anyone know what’s wrong that makes her a special needs baby? Just curious, because she looks likea healthy little girl. :-)
