Daniel did not hang around after the Courage in Concert last night because it looked to me that he was exhausted and needed to get some sleep or at least make an early night of it.
Also he may not have been feeling that well or – GOD forbid- he may have felt a cold coming on or a bit under the weather-

I think with the heavy Steady Rain schedule plus signing autographs and dealing with the Stage Door pandemonium and screaming fans 6 nights a week night- plus 2 matinee shows- i think all of the ‘hanging out with the fans’ and stuff is getting old for him- and/or maybe it is way too much frenzy for him on a daily basis.

It seems that he does not like to be idolized, put on a pedestal and worshipped .

Daniel did attend the pre-show charity cocktail party (for the guests paying for the $500 $1500 and $2500 dollar tickets) and he did do the ‘meet and greet thing’ in the pre-show cocktail party, but it looks to me that this whole Steady Rain schedule is getting to him. and maybe ‘ the daily grind and spending every Sunday and Monday night out” is all catching up to him??

He did wonderful at the show and it looked like he was really enjoying his part. He was onstage for much of the show and did a lot of narration. Fantastic job! He really seemed to enjoy doing the show.

But I think he is totally over the ‘meet and greet the fans’ stuff. And it may be too much ‘crazy fan frenzy” on a daily basis, especially if he is ‘down to earth’ and deep down just a regular ‘Joe’.

I am not a Clooney fan at all, but I found this to be a very honest and refreshing article…

‘I’ve been in some relationships where I’ve felt terribly alone. Just because you’re with someone it doesn’t mean you’re incredibly happy and complete.” – George Clooney, from OMG (yahoo)

George Clooney Opens Up About His Sometimes Lonely Love

George Clooney recently went public about his relationship with 30-year-old Italian TV presenter Elisabetta Canalis, but he hasn’t always been so confident in earlier relationships. This week the actor opened up to London’s Daily Mirror about his past heartache:

“I’ve had some absolutely great relationships and some not so great relationships. I’ve been in some relationships where I’ve felt terribly alone. Just because you’re with someone it doesn’t mean you’re incredibly happy and complete.”

The star of “Up In the Air” and “The Men Who Stare at Goats,” who was briefly married to actress Talia Balsam in the late 1980s, even spoke about his breakups: “I’ve had some easy and natural, made-sense breakups as well as some rough ones. I deal with them the same way we all do: I’m successful with some and not so successful with others.

“I don’t think my experiences are any different than anybody else’s, they’ve just been amplified a little more.”

Clooney didn’t speak directly about his relationship with Canalis, but did offer hints about his social life when he talked about why he loves his home in Lake Como, Italy:

“Some of the most fun dinners I’ve ever had have been there. There’s always 10 or 15 people and we have wild fun evenings of interesting people telling interesting stories. I relate to nothing but joy and happiness there — it’s been the greatest thing I’ve ever done for myself.”

Clooney is only 48, but told the Mirror people often think he’s older:

“It’s funny because earlier in my career I was working with a lot of actresses who were my age or older and most actors work with actresses who are considerably younger. So people always thought I was older anyway and I’ve been going through this thing with people thinking I’m about 60.”

But Clooney, who survived a painful spine injury while filming “Syriana” in 2004 that he said left him suicidal for months, puts his age in perspective:

“I’m kind of comfortable with getting older because it’s better than the other option, which is being dead.”

Oh , forgot to add the most important thing…
Daniel is NOT a ‘Diva” in any way or by any means.
He had no one with him last night. NO security guards came with him. Aside from his driver, he was the only one in his car.

He did not bring his own security or even any friends last night at the charity event.

He simply came by himself. So all of that rubbish- slime rumor gossip in the press about Daniel demanding or requesting more security was and is a load of hog-crap.

The Theater security (one man) did go down to his car and meet him when he arrived, and this security guard did escort Daniel into the theater, through the lobby and into the pre-show party, and then left him there…and other than that, Dan went Stag!!

The same happened last week at the Steady Rain show, Daniel arrived with just one (very cute) security guard, the guy with white hair. No girlfriend or any other people were with him. Same with Hugh, who was walking to the Schoenfeld , sans limo.

#679 Thanks for telling us about the Courage Concert. I always knew that he was not a Diva like the press want to make him out to be. He has the “courage” to go out alone, he does not need a body guard, friends or Sats with him all the time. (I wish he asked me to go with him though) Great to find out he was wonderful at the Courage Concert (I think he does well in all the things he does). Hopefully he will take care of himself and not get run down before the play is finished. I can understand the frenzy of the fans would get to him after time.

@George C. and Daniel C.:
They are a bit the same. I read it too.
