January Jones & John McCain Talk Sharks

January Jones urges Sen. John McCain to pass the Shark Conservation Act at his office on Capitol Hill on Wednesday afternoon (September 30) in Washington, D.C.

“We should be scared for sharks, not of them,” said the 31-year-old Golden Globe nominee. “The survival of sharks and the health of our oceans depend on it.”

After the meeting, John tweeted, “Great meeting and tour of the Capitol with January Jones, who is an advocate for sharks. I’m a huge fan of Mad Men!”

This past Sunday’s episode of Mad Men pulled in 1.729 million viewers. Come on guys, let’s get to 2 million next week!

    Sooooooo let me get this straight – Republicans are all in favor of helping sharks, but not when it comes to healthcare for 50 million Americans?

    Shameful!!! The lies being spread around about healthcare reform are absolutely criminal!

    Stunning how many idiots actually are believing it too…..when the fact is, too many Republican Senators/Congressmen are making TONS of money from the healthcare industry.

    This is a sad time for people in the U.S…..and exactly why you may never see genuine reform. America is operating like a storefront. Everything is for sale. Sad.

    ZK- In case you aren’t aware, there are Democrats who are opposed to this health care reform bill, it’s not just republicans opposing it. Most people are FOR reforming health care in some form or fashion, but only when the plan is a good one. So far the plan hasn’t been good enough..doesn’t matter what party you vote for, a bad plan is a bad plan.

    You know I’m all for celebs getting behind causes but come on! There are millions of Americans who are homeless, starving, abused, living in poverty, etc…and she’s helping the sharks???

    I’d sooner support a celeb going to the White House to do something about the Paps! At least with paps stalking these celebs and chasing them down the paps have become a danger to innocent by standers/drivers (aka tax payers). But the sharks??? Come on!!!

    @LolaSvelt:

    She is NOT a Republican. She said in Interview Magazine that she voted for Barack Obama. I wonder if McCain knows that? LOL.

    Anyways, you don’t have to have one political affiliation to meet your Senators.

    Why do people like to categorize someone as just Republican or Democrats? It should be about the issues. I guess that’s why things never get done. People are too pre-occupied w/ pointing the finger at the other group.

    And yes, not everyone in the same party agree on everything. People should look into the details of the health care reform. Just because you’re a Democrat, doesn’t mean you agree w/ everything in it and just because you’re a Republican doesn’t mean you hate everything in it. We need constructive criticism.

    @zk:

    Yeah because sharks are the real symbol of the Republican.
    As for saving the shark I think we should reward January with not saving the shark but domesticating them. Because we all knew that sharks are good for Shark fin soup and the shark cartilage has some proven effect on cytogenesis.

    This would explain why actors and producers are constantly bad mouthing her. In Hollywood it is taboo to publicly criticize child molesters and drug addicts but dare to endorse a conservative or express an opinion right of the far left and it is open season for character assassinations.
