OlderGlee's Matthew Morrison to Record Solo Album
Glee‘s Matthew Morrison will be recording a solo album, Access Hollywood reports.
Matt, 31, said he’s nearly finalized a record deal and will be recording an album.
“I would consider it a classier Justin Timberlake album,” he said. “It’s going to be me and a big orchestra, but also with beats.”
The Glee star also shared that he wants to do a little bit of everything in the business. “I want to be like the next Gene Kelly,” Matt said. “I want to kind of do it all.” He’s already gotten a Tony nomination for his work on The Light in the Piazza and appeared on Broadway’s Hairspray and South Pacific.
As for the forthcoming Glee tour, though, don’t expect to see Matthew joining the glee club kids on their trip around the country.
“I don’t think I’m going to be involved in that,” Matthew said. “Mr. Schuester likes to take his summer break.”

He’s been on Broadway, and he CAN sing! You’re probably just used to the crap that the music industry keeps pushing out. REAL talent finds itself usually live onstage in New York or LA!
He use to be in the boy band LMNT. They were made up of a bunch of guys who didn’t “Make the Band” when O-Town came out.

I’ve only heard him sing on GLEE, so, yeah, I don’t know, but good for him, I like him honestly, i just didn’t know he had a very strong voice

As much as I love this show and the character he plays, I’m gonna have to agree with you. A “classier” JT album? Hopefully he doesn’t mean that the way it sounds, but man does it sound arrogant and almost like he’s dissing Justin. I’m actually not a fan of Justin’s music, but the dude deserves respect for his talent.
I would buy Matthew’s CD in a heartbeat- I LOVE his voice, and maybe by “classier” he meant that his music could be enjoyed by us AND our young children ….. UNLIKE “Di** in a Box” or “Sexy Back” by Timberlake, both of which are crude and pretty stupid.
Matthew Morrison has a better voice than Justin Timberlake, and inherently MUCH more class.
Matthew has a great voice (check out the Hairspray Broadway soundtrack). Love his body, and wish “Glee” would show it off on the show. This photo was from a Broadway Cares benefit from a year or so back where the participating Broadway stars showed skin.
He’s not dissing Justin Timberlake. The “classier” comment refers to him using an orchestra. Matty loves to beatbox, much like JT, so what he is saying is that the album will be a mix of the orchestra/Broadway stuff he’s known for with some beatbox stuff like JT.

On Glee they have about a 15 year difference.
In real life, a 3 year difference.
