Rihanna Went To Sleep As Rihanna, Woke Up As Britney Spears

Rihanna is finally opening up about the aftermath of being assaulted by Chris Brown in February.

“I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears,” the 21-year-old songstress tells Glamour. “That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day… The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard.”

Rihanna will be honored at Glamour‘s annual Women of the Year event Monday at New York’s Carnegie Hall. There will be a “special musical performance” that night. Any guesses?

Mad late b*tch on trying to be a voice for those women. You have been shying away from that leadership role. They no longer need you, especially the way your exploit yourself as a woman.

  • Mike

Rihanna turned so phony. Not going to buy her album.

  • Deb

    She’s not worth 2 cents.

  • Stella

    Love you Rihanna!!!!!!

  • janelle

Hopefully she spreads the word to help the women who have to deal with domestic abuse.

  • dundies

we are much aware of your career boost. your welcome

  • dundies

    why so serious?

  • doggy

    Rihanna :))

  • AOZ

She did have an opportunity to represent a voice for women, but she pissed it away until she needed to do press for a new album.

  • twisted

Three posts about this bitch in the past day and not much said too.
The label must be paying for the coverage.

  • linx

For someone who dislikes ‘media chaos,’ she seems to be out just about every night.

  • rpatzfan

lol ,she wish that ,attention wh***

  • marissa

Im glad she realize that she have a voice and I hope she will use it

  • You/Me

So what is her “message” to young women….Don’t smack your man around if you don’t want to get smacked back….is what she should be preaching. That and how about taking responsability for your own actions Rihanna?!

  • Ashley Sparkle

She a true hero to women everywhere. Stay strong!

  • ivy

i wish she had used her voice earlier and hope she will have something of substance to say. i’d like to know if she’s been in counseling. she seems to really need it.

  • just say no

I don’t think she’s been too much of a role model. I’d like to know why she’s been clubbing and partying all the time instead of using her ‘voice’ to speak out against domestic violence.

  • marissa

For those who keep saying” how come she didnt use her voice earlier”

Have you ever been in a domestic abuse relationship??

Maybe she was suffering, maybe she wanted to F— grieve.

So what if this is coming near her album date. Im glad she is finally saying something and if she did said something earlier, you still would have ragged on her.

  • rosie

I’m not really sure why she deserves to be a GLAMOUR woman of the year. i like some of her music, but that does make her deserving. about domestic abuse though, i dont think she had done nearly enough to be awarded for it when her peers who have been awarded in the past have set up foundations to support girls in developing nations, fielded death threats, etc.

i dont think an interview here and there makes you somehow equally deserving given the standards set by others who’ve won. she can do much more, hopefully this will be the push that gets her to do it.

  • rosie

correction: *does that make her deserving?

  • rabbit

@rosie: Agree with you there. I think they chose her cause of the pr hoopla. They know it will sell magazines.

why i she being honoured *smh*

  • Ashley

What work has she done to be honored for?

  • Truth Is…

If had done some interviews, I could see her being honored but what has she done? She’s done nothing so far. How does that help women?

  • AndrĂ©

    cant stand her

  • passion

    What’s up with Rihanna’s hair?

  • clay

@rosie: Shows how off track people’s thinking is. Woman of the year? For what? Its their award…

  • clay

@clay: Correction: It shows how off track the peoples thinking has becom.

I support them BOTH and wish them BOTH success in the future

Maybe RiRi did need time to get her footing again before helping anybody else. Time will tell how she uses her voice. I pray she has learned and healed from this. I pray CBreezy has learned his lesson as well. I always felt this was a “fight” that went WAY to FAR and was a one time incident (yes he was still wrong not saying he wasnt)

  • tal

    loveeeeee her!
i will buy her album so go away haters!!

  • Cristobal

Shut the hell up already. I am over her. Waiting months to open her damn mouth. Get over yourself and stop trying to promote that weak album.

  • ace11

    isn’t she banging timberlake?

  • Yeaok

wtf is this bitch talking about? she hasn’t voiced shit and at this point no one needs to hear her shit… game over bitch.

  • ann

Why is she being honored? I like Rihanna but she hasn’t done anything but change her hairstyle a dozen times and dress like a slut.

  • hello1

at least Britney Spears can come out with a great #1 album and all her singles were hits!!! Rihanna your two latest singles suck! they’re horrible. magic doesn’t strike for you. you now fall to the ranks of Ashanti, Ciara, Brandy etc at girls who were at the top but no longer matter. Beyonce and Britney are queens

  • Jay

    she wish!!

  • **JAMIE**

i love rihanna but i wish she didnt due this interview. It is far too late. She is bringing up the past all over again when it is conveinent for her.

  • black beauty

rihanna is amazing. domestic violence is such a shameful and private thing to go through. she has an album coming out and has to promote it and of course all the interviewers are gonna ask her about the incident. she has to talk when she is ready not when you are ready.

  • ava rose

People grow up and change and that’s cool but she seems to be the type of person who forgot where she came from. She used to be the barbados girl talking about the “sun” and having a good time and now when you see her out, she’s always trying to make a “fashion statement” (that looks ugly most of the time). I commend her for leaving chris brown but it’s so obvious her and her record label are completely capitalizing on the fact she was a victim of abuse; now they’re using that as her new “image”. “Rihanna – so dark edgy and dangerous…”if i had a gun i would so shoot it” kinda lyrics. Very weird.

  • rpatzfan

why her lyrics are always about violence ,guns ,etc? like Unfaithful ,the song of a guy killing him self and Russian Roulette about a gun and being her terrified ,the song ends with a gun shot.
She loves violecence i guess ,a cheap way to sell records.

  • jane

The whole ‘fight’ was a stunt to stop her becoming like Ashanti, Ciara, Brandy, etc. She reveled in the fame she got from it too much. She’s a rich popstar there’s no reason she couldn’t have condemned that boy. BUT SHE DIDN’T!

  • black

How convenient that her new album is about to drop just when she finally decided to open up……..lalalalalalalalalala……….

  • may

oh my god she is so full of crap
her publicist wrote that line for her – it tookk her 10 days to memorize

    what a lost loooooooser

  • freee minds

her music, this new stuf, STINKS
    what a let down

  • Babe_luv_ya

Go f.uck yourself Rihanna ! I least Britney is adorable. You are a disgusting person forehead

  • Khristi

@linx: What is she going to do stay inside and not live her life? It’s not her fault that she got beat up and it’s not her fault that people like us make this site go strong by coming on here posting comments about something that is completely irrelevant such as celebrity. We get on here and keep the machine running and that’s why there’s paps following behind these people..

  • peace

agree with # 14, they need to tell young women not to hit anyone if you do not want to get hit back. i think she needs some counseling herself. the way she has been acting lately.

  • Mary

She went to sleep as herself and woke up as herself! Leave Britney out of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chris was wrong and now paying the price however Rihanna has never answered for her abusive behavior and why not??????????????????

  • enoughalready

She is so fake! Britney ought to sue her for coming with this one here, all this bull just to sale a CD. The puppet reins agian.. They paid for this honor, no one is feeling Rihanna anymore all this publicity stunting is crazy. So her walking the streets of New York was what? This fake slut needs to go somewher and sit down and dont try that one. She was one of the ones that sit front row at the award show and laughed at Britney now she wants to use her.. Bad choice..

  • enoughalready

Gettin into one altercation dont make you an abused anything especially when you started it! Stop using that she is pushing it to far now!
