Rihanna Went To Sleep As Rihanna, Woke Up As Britney Spears

Rihanna is finally opening up about the aftermath of being assaulted by Chris Brown in February.

“I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears,” the 21-year-old songstress tells Glamour. “That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day… The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard.”

Rihanna will be honored at Glamour‘s annual Women of the Year event Monday at New York’s Carnegie Hall. There will be a “special musical performance” that night. Any guesses?

Mad late b*tch on trying to be a voice for those women. You have been shying away from that leadership role. They no longer need you, especially the way your exploit yourself as a woman.

She did have an opportunity to represent a voice for women, but she pissed it away until she needed to do press for a new album.

Three posts about this ***** in the past day and not much said too.
The label must be paying for the coverage.

For someone who dislikes ‘media chaos,’ she seems to be out just about every night.

So what is her “message” to young women….Don’t smack your man around if you don’t want to get smacked back….is what she should be preaching. That and how about taking responsability for your own actions Rihanna?!

She a true hero to women everywhere. Stay strong!

i wish she had used her voice earlier and hope she will have something of substance to say. i’d like to know if she’s been in counseling. she seems to really need it.

I don’t think she’s been too much of a role model. I’d like to know why she’s been clubbing and partying all the time instead of using her ‘voice’ to speak out against domestic violence.

For those who keep saying” how come she didnt use her voice earlier”

Have you ever been in a domestic abuse relationship??

Maybe she was suffering, maybe she wanted to F— grieve.

So what if this is coming near her album date. Im glad she is finally saying something and if she did said something earlier, you still would have ragged on her.

Idiots

I’m not really sure why she deserves to be a GLAMOUR woman of the year. i like some of her music, but that does make her deserving. about domestic abuse though, i dont think she had done nearly enough to be awarded for it when her peers who have been awarded in the past have set up foundations to support girls in developing nations, fielded death threats, etc.

i dont think an interview here and there makes you somehow equally deserving given the standards set by others who’ve won. she can do much more, hopefully this will be the push that gets her to do it.

correction: *does that make her deserving?

@rosie: Agree with you there. I think they chose her cause of the pr hoopla. They know it will sell magazines.

why i she being honoured *smh*

Thumb up Thumb down 0

What work has she done to be honored for?

Truth Is... @ 11/02/2009 at 11:04 pm

If had done some interviews, I could see her being honored but what has she done? She’s done nothing so far. How does that help women?

cant stand her
