Rihanna Went To Sleep As Rihanna, Woke Up As Britney Spears

Rihanna is finally opening up about the aftermath of being assaulted by Chris Brown in February.

“I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears,” the 21-year-old songstress tells Glamour. “That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day… The positive thing that has come out of my situation is that people can learn from that. I want to give as much insight as I can to young women, because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard.”

Rihanna will be honored at Glamour‘s annual Women of the Year event Monday at New York’s Carnegie Hall. There will be a “special musical performance” that night. Any guesses?

Mad late b*tch on trying to be a voice for those women. You have been shying away from that leadership role. They no longer need you, especially the way your exploit yourself as a woman.

She did have an opportunity to represent a voice for women, but she pissed it away until she needed to do press for a new album.

Three posts about this ***** in the past day and not much said too.
The label must be paying for the coverage.

Im glad she realize that she have a voice and I hope she will use it

    You/Me Says:

So what is her “message” to young women….Don’t smack your man around if you don’t want to get smacked back….is what she should be preaching. That and how about taking responsability for your own actions Rihanna?!

    Ashley Sparkle Says:

She a true hero to women everywhere. Stay strong!

    ivy Says:

i wish she had used her voice earlier and hope she will have something of substance to say. i’d like to know if she’s been in counseling. she seems to really need it.

    just say no Says:

I don’t think she’s been too much of a role model. I’d like to know why she’s been clubbing and partying all the time instead of using her ‘voice’ to speak out against domestic violence.

  18. 18
    marissa Says:

For those who keep saying” how come she didnt use her voice earlier”

Have you ever been in a domestic abuse relationship??

Maybe she was suffering, maybe she wanted to F— grieve.

So what if this is coming near her album date. Im glad she is finally saying something and if she did said something earlier, you still would have ragged on her.

    rosie Says:

I’m not really sure why she deserves to be a GLAMOUR woman of the year. i like some of her music, but that does make her deserving. about domestic abuse though, i dont think she had done nearly enough to be awarded for it when her peers who have been awarded in the past have set up foundations to support girls in developing nations, fielded death threats, etc.

i dont think an interview here and there makes you somehow equally deserving given the standards set by others who’ve won. she can do much more, hopefully this will be the push that gets her to do it.

  20. 20
    rosie Says:

correction: *does that make her deserving?

  21. 21
    rabbit Says:

@rosie: Agree with you there. I think they chose her cause of the pr hoopla. They know it will sell magazines.

  22. 22
    TOO SEXY Says:

why i she being honoured *smh*

  23. 23
    Ashley Says:

What work has she done to be honored for?

  24. 24
    Truth Is... Says:

If had done some interviews, I could see her being honored but what has she done? She’s done nothing so far. How does that help women?

  25. 25

    cant stand her

  26. 26
    passion Says:

    What’s up with Rihanna’s hair?

  27. 27
    clay Says:

@rosie: Shows how off track people’s thinking is. Woman of the year? For what? Its their award…

  28. 28
    clay Says:

@clay: Correction: It shows how off track the peoples thinking has becom.

  29. 29
    No comment Says:

I support them BOTH and wish them BOTH success in the future

Maybe RiRi did need time to get her footing again before helping anybody else. Time will tell how she uses her voice. I pray she has learned and healed from this. I pray CBreezy has learned his lesson as well. I always felt this was a “fight” that went WAY to FAR and was a one time incident (yes he was still wrong not saying he wasnt)

    loveeeeee her!
i will buy her album so go away haters!!

    Cristobal Says:

Shut the hell up already. I am over her. Waiting months to open her damn mouth. Get over yourself and stop trying to promote that weak album.

  34. 34
    ann Says:

Why is she being honored? I like Rihanna but she hasn’t done anything but change her hairstyle a dozen times and dress like a ****.

  35. 35
    hello1 Says:

at least Britney Spears can come out with a great #1 album and all her singles were hits!!! Rihanna your two latest singles suck! they’re horrible. magic doesn’t strike for you. you now fall to the ranks of Ashanti, Ciara, Brandy etc at girls who were at the top but no longer matter. Beyonce and Britney are queens

  36. 36
    Jay Says:

    she wish!!

  37. 37
    **JAMIE** Says:

i love rihanna but i wish she didnt due this interview. It is far too late. She is bringing up the past all over again when it is conveinent for her.

  38. 38
    black beauty Says:

rihanna is amazing. domestic violence is such a shameful and private thing to go through. she has an album coming out and has to promote it and of course all the interviewers are gonna ask her about the incident. she has to talk when she is ready not when you are ready.

  39. 39
    ava rose Says:

People grow up and change and that’s cool but she seems to be the type of person who forgot where she came from. She used to be the barbados girl talking about the “sun” and having a good time and now when you see her out, she’s always trying to make a “fashion statement” (that looks ugly most of the time). I commend her for leaving chris brown but it’s so obvious her and her record label are completely capitalizing on the fact she was a victim of abuse; now they’re using that as her new “image”. “Rihanna – so dark edgy and dangerous…”if i had a gun i would so shoot it” kinda lyrics. Very weird.

  40. 40
    rpatzfan Says:

why her lyrics are always about violence ,guns ,etc? like Unfaithful ,the song of a guy killing him self and Russian Roulette about a gun and being her terrified ,the song ends with a gun shot.
She loves violecence i guess ,a cheap way to sell records.

  41. 41
    jane Says:

The whole ‘fight’ was a stunt to stop her becoming like Ashanti, Ciara, Brandy, etc. She reveled in the fame she got from it too much. She’s a rich popstar there’s no reason she couldn’t have condemned that boy. BUT SHE DIDN’T!

  42. 42
    black Says:

How convenient that her new album is about to drop just when she finally decided to open up……..lalalalalalalalalala……….

  43. 43
    may Says:

oh my god she is so full of crap
her publicist wrote that line for her – it tookk her 10 days to memorize

    what a lost loooooooser

    Babe_luv_ya Says:

Go f.uck yourself Rihanna ! I least Britney is adorable. You are a disgusting person forehead

  46. 46
    Khristi Says:

@linx: What is she going to do stay inside and not live her life? It’s not her fault that she got beat up and it’s not her fault that people like us make this site go strong by coming on here posting comments about something that is completely irrelevant such as celebrity. We get on here and keep the machine running and that’s why there’s paps following behind these people..

  47. 47
    peace Says:

agree with # 14, they need to tell young women not to hit anyone if you do not want to get hit back. i think she needs some counseling herself. the way she has been acting lately.

  48. 48
    Mary Says:

She went to sleep as herself and woke up as herself! Leave Britney out of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chris was wrong and now paying the price however Rihanna has never answered for her abusive behavior and why not??????????????????

  49. 49
    enoughalready Says:

She is so fake! Britney ought to sue her for coming with this one here, all this bull just to sale a CD. The puppet reins agian.. They paid for this honor, no one is feeling Rihanna anymore all this publicity stunting is crazy. So her walking the streets of New York was what? This fake **** needs to go somewher and sit down and dont try that one. She was one of the ones that sit front row at the award show and laughed at Britney now she wants to use her.. Bad choice..

  50. 50
    enoughalready Says:

Gettin into one altercation dont make you an abused anything especially when you started it! Stop using that she is pushing it to far now!

  51. 51
    You need help Says:

Rihanna you are not Britney! Don’t think you have a mental disorder! Starting wondering about you when you got that gun tatoo. Not a tat that a normal female would want! You have hit Chris many times over and over FIRST and yet have never been held accountable. Glad Chris is paying his dues and hope he gets help. However, you need just as much help as Chris does and need to own your part in the relationship.

  52. 52
    Justin Says:

@Khristi: How many celebrities do you see almost daily photos of? There’s no reason for this girl to be out every night. She is seeking the paparazzi attention. Something is wrong there. She doesn’t appear to be a draw to the magazines so her people must be arranging these photo sessions. What a shame.

  53. 53
    kimberley Says:

“because I feel like I represent a voice that really isn’t heard.” yeah right. she had to do something to be honored for something, what has she done? NOTHING.

  54. 54
    shay Says:

I know that’s right. He should have never been with her to start with. I knew it was a bad look!!! But live and learn Chris, you will be bigger and better because of it!!!! Love you Chris.
Rihanna, put some clothes on and quit looking like a typical island ho’!!!!

  55. 55
    shay Says:

I agree leave Britney the hell out of this. You are one to talk, she knows what happened that night!!! She and Chris, don’t hit unless you want to be hit!!!!!!!! Didn’t yo mama teach you that!!!!!

  56. 56
    pink sugar Says:

The same old people who know nothing about Rihanna, don’t care about her and claim they don’t like her, but spend a lot of time and energy commenting on her threads.

Keep your heard up, Rihanna. Half the people here are struggling actors/singers who after 10 yrs of trying in LA still can’t catch a break.

  57. 57
    pink sugar Says:

Can’t you people read and comprehend. She experienced the same level of media chaos as Britney did when Britney had her meltdown. It called comparison.

  58. 58
    tealeaf Says:

Iam glad she said something about Domestic Violence. I saw the spread and it’s acutally cute, except for her hair

  59. 59
    enoughalready Says:

We as consumers need to boycott Glamour for making this sorry chick “WOMAN OF THE YEAR” for what? Walking the streets of New York? showing her nasty tale? She could not have been a role model cause she did nothing! She was not an abused woman cause she did it, people like Rihanna need to go crawl back under a rock! Now she is playing the victim role? After not wanting a restraining order, for sleeping with him days after if it was not for Def Jams image being tarnished she would’ve still been seeing Chris, but now she is using the situation for her good and her good only! Please Glamour sit this chick down…

  60. 60
    Angie Says:

@pink sugar: Comparison – still didn’t need to bring Britney into it! Britney has moved on. Rihanna’s actions have hurt her, after the incident getting a gun tattoo, that promotes violence! Going out every night partying and now you have waited for your album to come out to do your FIRST interview – promoting self – not domestic violence. These were Rihanna’s decisions. Rihanna needs to leave Britney out even by comparison you don’t keep bringing up a person’s past especially if it wasn’t pleasant. (the media came with all the insane stuff that was in Britney’s life at the time,) WRONG of Rhihanna!

  61. 61
    Snow White Says:

@pink sugar: Yes, we all can read and have reading comprehension. However, Rihanna was one that made fun of Britney so for her use Britney has a comparison is a NO! Rihanna likes the thug life with her gun tattoo……………..

  62. 62
    poppasd Says:

I find it ironic that the very people who are on sites like this, reading about every detail of the “stars”, are the same people that label their “alter heroes” as being fake…. as far as the article…. wow! what an amazing article! I’ve learned so much about nothing really.

  63. 63
    Katie. Says:

She can’t be Britney in neither sense cause Britney is more famous, more cool, more popular, more beautiful and more pop princes.. So,Rihanna, stop compare u and Brit, u can’t be her even in bad sense.
