Michelle Obama Talks Insurance Reform
First Lady Michelle Obama speaks in the White House’s East Room on Friday (November 13).
Focusing on issues that older women face in health insurance, Michelle assured older women that a health care overhaul won’t keep them from Medicare benefits and that the change in health care will bring costs down.
“My husband believes that Medicare is a sacred part of America’s social safety net and it’s a safety net that he will protect – he will protect – with health insurance reform,” she said.
Three women, invited by the White House, spoke about personal incidents they’d had with paying for medical coverage and dealing with health insurance problems before the First Lady spoke.
