OlderCate Blanchett Welcomes The Sydney Theatre Company
Cate Blanchett (in Armani Prive) attends a welcome dinner for the Sydney Theatre Company at Armani Ristorante on Monday (November 23) in New York City.
The 40-year-old actress stars in the lead role in A Streetcar Named Desire as Blanche DuBois, with Joel Edgerton in the role of Stanley. It premieres at New York’s BAM Harvey Theater this Friday (November 27).
“We were incredibly apprehensive and slightly nervous but in the end that anxiety was the flipside of excitement,” Cate told ABC. “And in the end, we were just incredibly excited about bringing this work here; this Australian/Norwegian hybrid interpretation of one of the great masterworks, a great American classic, and bringing that back to its homeland where it originated from.”

I’ve seen Cate on stage and as far as I’m concerned she’s the greatest actress alive, NO question! #2 is clueless in the acting dpt. Beautiful woman and SO stunning here! Not many people could look so elegant & classy in that loud purple. No one does it like Cate that’s for sure.

I’m sorry, but anyone who thinks she’s ugly needs to get their eyes checked! this is a gorgeous woman and most importantly, she’s NATURAL with it! Very clean lines, beautiful form for clothes and always seems to pick the perfect jewelry for the dress, her style really is impeccable. I just can’t stop staring at this, she and the Armani are stunning!
