OlderGwyneth Paltrow is Expanding Her Empire
Gwyneth Paltrow checks out the construction going on outside her house in London on Tuesday (December 1).
The 37-year-old actress, who sported galoshes by Hunter and a double-breasted peacoat, recently purchased the house next door to her house with hubby Chris Martin to expand their existing property.
Gwyn headed to Morocco on Thursday, joining Jennifer Aniston, Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom to celebrate the reopening of Marrakesh’s La Mamounia hotel.
“My kids don’t get off from school, so I figured I would take off for a few days,” she told People. “It’s wonderful to be here.”

Chris and Gwyneth are so different.. I don´t know, why are they together.maybe for kids. I think they are same case like Madonna and Guy Richie, they will be soon apart…

As usual Gwynnie only partially tells the truth. That wasn’t just for fun, it was a woring gig for Chopard. They were opening a flagship boutique in the hotel and paid a bunch of celebs big bucks to attend the launch.

It’s so interesting how women on this site are so complimentary of Blythe’s appearance and so mean-spirited toward Gwyneth. It is apparently much easier to show some generosity toward an older woman, a grandmother, a widow, who is obviously non-threatening to you. That Gwyneth, or other successful young-middle aged women are so threatening to other women, when her life has zero effect on yours, is dismaying. Instead of knocking successful ambitious women down, we should support them. Men don’t get on message boards bashing Michael Douglas while regaling Kirk Douglas. Furthermore, unless you are a theater geek like me, you’d have no clue who Blythe is were it not for her daughter, whose fame has opened up career opportunities in film and TV for Blythe that didn’t exist before Gwyneth’s career took off. (despite Blythe’s excellent turn in The Great Santini)

@Rory: Not true, Danner has been on shows like the X Files, Will and Grace and Huff. A lot of the younger generation know her. This is a good example of a mother and daughter resembling each other but the mother being more attractive and likeable than the daugther. If Gwyneth had her mother’s charm and grace, she’d probably have more fans and positive comments.
Actresses like Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchett and Kate Winslet are more positively received and more accomplished so the whole threatening argument doesn’t hold either.
@Onyx: Thanks, I was wondering why she was opening a hotel on Thanksgiving with “that TV girl.”
It’s a shame she’s playing supporting gigs, even if it’s in a blockbuster. She’s mad some poor choices but you’d think she would have had a better career for an Oscar winner.
