OlderGwyneth Paltrow & Leighton Meester: Love Don't Let Me Down!
Leighton Meester and Gwyneth Paltrow will share the silver screen in the upcoming film Love Don’t Let Me Down, Variety reports.
The film, produced by Tobey Maguire, is about a rising singer (Garrett Hedlund) who falls for an older country singer (Paltrow).
Tim McGraw will also as Gwyneth‘s husband and manager, who will do his best to put her career back on track. Leighton will play a beauty-queen-turned-singer.
Work on the film will begin in January in Nashville.

wow, Gwyneth’s all of what, 35? and she’s already relegated to the “older” female roles. It’s a white man’s world, peeps; a white man’s world.
Paltrow is looking old and beat.
First it’s opening a hotel, now it’s starring as the older woman in a gossip girl movie. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
I hope not but this sounds like it will be not of the good.

I would say the mighty is doing not too shabby.
Also, if anything that they’re in is a “Gossip Girl” movie, then Tina Fey and Steve Carell’s “Date Night” is a Gossip Girl movie, as is Ben Affleck’s new “The Town.”

@jiggy: She’s not old but she’s 37 andt looks 40ish. In that sense she is an older woman compared to her younger 20ish co-stars.
@Jessica: She got married and had kids. A lot of people do. Happy for her but many do that every day. As for her husband’s success, that can’t really be attributed to her and sadly their marriage has been dodged by cheating rumors which I hope are just that…rumors.
I wouldn’t call this new project a Gossip Girl movie but you can’t really compare Paltrow to Tina Fey who develops her own projects and regularly makes the top entertainment power lists or to Affleck who is now directing and producing his own movies including The Town.
True, the hotel was a paid gig. Chopard paid a slew of celebs to open their flagship store there.
I don’t think Paltrow is doing terrible but she’s not doing great despite her wealth and famous connections. She hasn’t really fulfilled the promise of her early Oscar win so yes, the mighty have fallen a bit.
I honestly don’t think Gwyneth Paltrow is doing bad at all! She had her comeback with Iron Man, which was a huge blockbuster. She got critical acclaim for Two Lovers. She’s really reinvented herself with her new style and haircut and whatever. I know a lot of people hold a grudge against her because they think she’s arrogant, but I think most of that is just taken out of context. She seems like a good mother and a nice person to me.
Although, I have to say I’m most excited by this movie because of Garrett Hedlund! :)
Ugh, why do people keep putting Gwyneth in movies? I just wish she would go away!!! And now we will all have to hear her sing and she will go on and on and and on and on and on about how she is the only actress who can sing just like she goes on and on like she is the only English-speaker to ever speak Spanish. And she IS arrogant and it has not been taken out of context.
I think this woman is more ignorant than arrogant. She’s actually not very educated and that’s probably why she puts her foot in her mouth so often.
She’s more of a celebrity now than a great artist which is not bad depending on how you look at it. She should thank Jon Favreau and RDJ because Iron Man is pretty much the only thing that’s kept her acting career afloat for the past few years and gotten her her current projects. She’s still merely a supporting player there in the ingenue role usually inhabited by 20something starlets, but at least it keeps her in the public eye and allows her the luxury of doing smaller independent films.
She hasn’t done bad but she hasn’t done great compared to a lot of her peers.
