Jared Leto takes the January 2010 cover of Nylon Guys. Here’s what the 37-year-old frontman for the brand 30 Seconds To Mars had to say:
On growing up as a child: “I was born a poor white trash boy… We were vagabonds, and I had a peripatetic childhood; our mother brought us on her journey of escape from the oppressive nature of The South.”
On his latest food kick: “You know how sometimes you can’t stop eating hot sauce? I’m in one of those phases now.”

I’m from Alabama and Jared comments about the south being Oppressive is crazy.The south is no different than anywhere else in America.It’s the people you choose to surround yourself with.

Well Jared beautiful of course (Jared Leto on Just Jared) LOL!!! Anywho I have to say that I don’t quite disagree with some of you guys on the opressive nature of the South. I come to you guys by way of central Florida, and I must say that they’re alot of right wing Republicans rednecks here. It’s funny that some of them are so far right because they aren’t really all that well off in terms of money. I don’t know-that’s just my little rant. Carry on.

Are you an idiot if you are a goth in Iowa or Hippie in Ohio or a cross dresser in New York or if you are fat in California or don’t have a tan in Florida you are treated different…If you have ever spent time in an amusement park anywhere in the USA and look anything slightly out of the norm you are called out. The south has nothing to do with this.
How do you come to the conclusion that the south is oppressed? Is it because how the south votes in elections?? If you look at the map during the elections it seems like the south only votes Republicans but if you look at the popular vote in most southern states its a close race.
