Taylor Swift Gives Back to Schools -- Big Time

For her 20th birthday, country superstar Taylor Swift held a Christmas-themed party for her band, crew and friends at her family’s Tennessee home.

“It’s more like an end-of-year Christmas party that happens to be on my birthday,” Tay shared with People.

But putting others first instead of herself, Taylor donated $250,000 to schools around the country she’s worked with and attended – the money will buy books for kids, fund programs and help pay teachers’ salaries.

“Something I wanted to do at the end of this amazing year and especially on my birthday was give back to something I really believe in, which is education,” Taylor said.

“The schools that I went to and the amazing people I got to learn from really turned me into who I am, and I wanted to give back.”
