Bethenny Frankel: Naked for PETA!

Bethenny Frankel knows what she wants everyone to leave off their shopping lists: fur.

Towering high above Times Square, the The Real Housewives of New York City star posed naked for a new PETA “Fur? I’d Rather Go Naked” campaign, as captured by celeb photographer Joseph Cultice.

Bethenny shared, “I used to wear fur. I went to a cocktail party, walked outside on Fifth Avenue, and a PETA protestor was holding up a skinned animal. I looked at it, and it made me sick. I felt disgusting. That day was a huge change, and since then I’ve really been against fur. I’m cleaning out my closets—trim, everything. I don’t see any reason for cruelty.”

    Good for her.

PETA is disgusting. They do nothing but exploit women to further their cause. This organization is very backwards.

  • Wendy

AMEN I only wish we could get more people like her and Pink for peta spokes people. Fire Pam Anderson. Hi Ms Anderson I’d like to teach you the meaning of hypocrisy. Hypocrisy means that you don’t preach anti fur anti kfc and then get photo graphed leaving a store that still sells fur and fur products. Yeah just thought you should know that. The only time you can do that and not be called a Hypocritical airhead is if you were there to try to presuade the owner that fur is murder. Which considering it’s you I doubt you were doing that. MY anti fur brigade began when I got a Chinchilla as a Pet. I can’t imagine my life without her.

  • umm

is this the how you apply to playboy. right “roll eyes”

  • amanda

She’s so ugly, thank God this doesn’t show much of her face. Like any of us really want to see her naked. Please fade back into obscurity, kthnkx.

  • DANFTW

Wooo, you go PETA, get them ladys nekked! Bet she would skin an animal for its fur if she was butt naked n’ cold :-p.

  • nofair

why is it always a woman made to strip naked to get the message across? how about get some men to do this with strategically placed hands? starting to seem more like self-promotion than animal rights advocacy really.

  • Nola

@nofair: Yes thank you. We need more naked men in these ad campaigns for PETA. Stop exploiting women. We need some naked Leonardo. He loves the environment! I am sure he would love to show his sexy azz to save some seals.

  • Mandy

Women dont show until they’re in the 4th month of pregnancy usually. She was in the first 2-3 mos in this picture. She looks good, though (except for her butterface)

  • Nikki

That’s weird [insert sarcasm here]… do PETA folks always walk around with freshly skinned animals in hand? And if so, who might be this covert supplier? Seems a little backward to me.
And Bethenny Frankel isn’t the prettiest flower in the field is she. Ew.
I’m most def. not a fan. Gag.

  • Chau

PETA disgusts me really. They should stop finding Z-list celebrities or wannabe celebrities and stripping them down to nothing and put they money toward saving the animals. -___- They are really stupid, and not as radical or brilliant as they’d like to think.

  • Little Mi

I’m so glad she now refuses to wear fur. I agree with her, there is no need for cruelty towards animals. They have the same right to live as we do. Only very vain and selfish women think that wearing fur makes them look attractive. It doesn’t. It only makes them look very vain and selfish and stupid.

  • jinjin

    @Nikki:

I know! I was just wondering where they (Peta) happened to get their hands on skinned animals. The naked celebrities and “I’d rather go naked” ads are really becoming redundant.

  • Excuse me?

So she had an epiphany, huh? Well what about all of those outrageously overprices designer LEATHER shoes and handbags she the those other self-indulgent, nasally NY Housewh@res are always sporting? Are the animals that were SKINNED for those any less dead?

I am SO sick of uneducated celebs attempting to dictate how everyone else should live their lives. I make my own money and will spend it as I pleasae. It will be a cold day in hell before i allow rat-faced Frankel todictate what I shall acquire.

  • G

    Yes!

there is no reason at all for animal cruelty. It’s disgusting to kill animals for fashion (let’s not start with food)

Ban alligator skins. 4 foot long alligators have their heads bashed in and then are stripped of their skin. It’s cruelty at its worst.

  • lexy

I agree – PETA is disgusting and I’m sick of celebs getting naked for the “cause”. How about they get naked for the adults and children who live in cold areas and don’t have a coat or warm clothes?
    -
These days almost no one wears real fur and if they do they aren’t going to change their minds b/c some celeb goes naked! Especially celebs who claim to anti-animal cruelty and run around in leather shoes and with their big leather bags!
    -
Sadly these days there are too many people and even “regular” animals (think Michael Vick and his dogs) in dire need of help. We can’t save everyone!

  • Excuse me?

So she had an epiphany, huh? Well what about all of those outrageously overpriced designer LEATHER shoes and handbags large enough to hold a family of six that she and those other self-indulgent, nasally NY Housewh@res are always sporting? Are the animals that were SKINNED for those any less dead?

I am SO sick of uneducated celebs attempting to dictate how everyone else should live their lives. I make my own money and will spend it as I please. It will be a cold day in hell before I allow rat-faced Frankel to dictate what I do or do not acquire.

  • remember da truth

I should have known the idiots would be out and about.
    1. She didn’t say that PETA had a skinned animal on hand — she said she saw a PICTURE of one. Can’t you read???
    2. Leather is different, because the cows are killed quickly and without torture or drugs for meat, which they were raised for, and were only born to produce. Talk about uneducated — you don’t even know the difference between domestic and wild animals and how they are killed!
    3. Bethenny can be “ugly” to you, or beautiful, but looks have nothing to do with character. If they did, I’m sure most of you would be even uglier than you really are.
    4. If you think no one wears fur anymore you don’t get out much. And what these ads have done is get even ignorant people like you folks to be talking about animal cruelty and hopefully, even learn a bit about it. They took the cause mainstream, which puts pressure on those who DO wear fur. And it’s worked.

But learning anything seems far from what you folks are capable of.

  • rodrigo

what’s with PETA’S promos. This doesnt make sense at all.
    Lame org.

    mmmmmmmm. Vegetarians sure taste good.

  • http://www.tenonanatche.com/stone.htm Stone

    yeah, like she’s fur-less!

  • http://righteous.bz/ MMA

    @Stone: Hey, you never know!

  • Mario

    @remember da truth:
Actually, no she didn’t say she saw a ‘picture” of them holding a skinned animal. She actually said she saw them holding a skinned animal. Re-read the article. There is something really wrong about them actually having a skinned animal to parade around to push their agenda.
Also, just because leather is obtained through a different method of killing, and just because those animals are also killed for meat , does that suddenly make it ok for them to die and be killed? Killing them for food is just as bad, even if they are killed ‘humanely’, they are stll killed; why do we have the right to kill anything when it’s been shows that we CAN survive without meat? I agree with the posters here. PETA are hypocrites, and although I am for animal rights, I would never choose to be affiliated with PETA. They cherry-pick which ‘issues’ and which (usually cute) ‘animals’ they want to ‘protect’ to their convenience
They are also right about Bethenny Frankensteinel; she is a nobody, wannabe, poseur and is only interested in self-promotion. And perhaps looks have nothing to do with character, but the people were saying they wish they didn’t have to see her naked, as their personal opinion of her is that she’s physically grotesque.
I know people who wear fur, and even when they were on the fence about it, they actually decided to CONTINUE wearing it BECAUSE PETA’S terrorist-like agenda-pushing just pissed them off. So, the ignorant people actually end up wearing fur even more just to defy the PETA assholes. In these cases, they chose to continue wearing fur and to support the fur industry BECAUSE of PETA.
Perhaps it got people talking about ‘the issue’, but if the result of that is people not changing their minds or even feeling even more strongly about their desire to wear fur, then not only was ‘getting people to talk about it’ useless, but it was counter-productive even and achieved the opposite result.
I would definitely MUCH rather to help the animals through any other medium OTHER than PETA.
“Ignorant people like you folks” .. people who actually say stuff like hat … ugh… actually, I’m not even going to bother finishing that sentence…
