OlderTony Cowell: This is Simon's Last Season of 'Idol'

The 50-year-old Idol and X Factor judge took a ride on a jetski and looked like he was having a blast!
Simon‘s brother, Tony, recently ignited rumors of Simon‘s departure from Idol, saying on his weekly podcast (via EW), “Meanwhile, Simon prepares for a new season of Idol – or should I say, his last season of Idol.”
“As I sit here with my family in the sunny Caribbean, a press statement is being prepared, which will confirm what everyone expected: Simon will leave Idol at the end of 2010 to concentrate on bringing the American version of X Factor to U.S. TV in 2011.”

im kinda happy that he is going to bring the X factor to the US. maybe then we can get some real talent to win. the past couple years on idol have not been great. first of all in season 7 syesha should have won, season 8 adam lambert should have won, season 5 daughtry shoud have won and season 6 melinda should have won. So hopefully the x factor will bring fresh new faces to the table.

But the what’s the point of X Factor?..Only difference being is that it allows groups. It will just be AI2 with a different panel.
And if it’s true that Cheryl Cole is moving with him, then good luck with that; because I can barely understand her let alone Americans.
American Idol cannot simply survive without him. It’s bad enough they brought in Ellen to ruin it.
Great. He wants to bring X Factor in the U.S. so he can make MORE money. The X Factor is more annoying than American Idol. Please, someone stop this old douche from ruining the music in this country.
@DickRambone: American Idol will be canceled and the X Factor will most likely will air on Fox. Just like the X Factor replaced Pop Idol in England. IT’S THE SAME SHOW. Well besides groups are allowed and everyone over 16 is allowed to audition (no cut-off at 28) and judges are “mentors” (secretly they all root for one person to win just like they did this year with Joe McElderry). Plus, this closeted old man has more right to the show than with Idol, which means more money for him.
Maybe now he’ll be able to afford a good bra.

The X Factor is FAKE. Danyl Johnson was the public’s favorite but Simon wanted Joe to win. For example, they made Dannii Minogue say to Danyl Johnson that he’s gay on stage, because rumors started that Joe McElderry was gay. He gave Danyl Johnson “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston to sing in the semi-finale, sabotaging him knowing that he will not perform the song well thus the public will not go crazy that he’s not in the finale. Public vote or not whom Simon wants to win, he or she will win. This was the case with Joe McElderry (the new “Zac Efron” LOL).
