Taylor Momsen Covers Seventeen February 2010

Taylor Momsen takes front and center on the February 2010 cover of Seventeen magazine.

The 16-year-old Gossip Girl actress chatted about being taken seriously and angsty, and sweet Lindsay Lohan. Check it:

On teenage angst: “I am angsty. I’ll be angsty until I’m 80 years old. I think that keeps things fresh. But I always think angst is such a derogatory word toward teenagers. It just means you’re figuring s*** out, and I don’t know why that’s a negative thing.”

On people taking her seriously: “I think people don’t really take me seriously because I’m 16. And they think most 16-year-olds don’t know what they want to do. But I actually really do, because I’ve been thinking about it since I was 2. And in the world of acting, you have such a stigma put onto you that you [get into this business] for the fame. Fame frankly means nothing. It’s so stupid. Unless you do something great and unless you do something that’s fulfilling to you, what’s the point?”

On not wanting to be the next tabloid star: “I love working. I’m a workaholic, and no one believes it. I’m in the recording studio until three in the morning. I get such a rap for being like Lindsay Lohan – and I hate naming names because she’s really sweet – and I’m really not. I don’t go out. I have no desire to be some tabloid party girl. I’m entirely a loner. I have been my entire life.”

    FIRST BITCHAZ!

  • Haha

She’s been thinking about acting since she was 2??? No wonder why ppl shouldn’t take her seriously.

  • Charlene

“they think most 16-year-olds don’t know what they want to do. But I actually really do, because I’ve been thinking about it since I was 2″
LMAO – holy cow, what a pretentious child she must have been. Still is. I can’t imagine that being a loner has actually been a matter of choice.

I don’t know about other people, but i’m pretty sure i wasn’t doing all that much life-planning at that age, and my most substantial thoughts were probably nothing more important than where my next piece of candy was coming from!

BRENDA SONG IS A MILLION TIMES MORE POPULAR THAN TAYLOR MOMSEN ACCORDING TO GOOGLE:
    http://google.com/trends?q=brenda+song%2C+taylor+momsen
Brenda>Taylor. How come B has never graced the cover of Seventeen MAG in the US? Shes only done a Malaysian Seventeen Magazine cover.

  • lizzie

Brenda was still more popular than her in 2007, when Gossip Girl debuted. Jared, why must you have a post about this chick? She hasn’t done anything notable other than Gossip Girl. Brenda’s done more adult work than her and is older.

  • mia

ok, whatever, if she says that she’s wanted to be a singer/actress/girl with raccoon eyes and ratty bleached blonde hair since she was 2, then good for her. i guess it’s comparable to kids saying they want to be a doctor when they grow up.

  • oprah

This little twit is a Courtney love wannabe! YOU WILL NEVER BE COURTNEY, TAYLOR!!!

  • dae

of course she got to be sweet to Lindsay cuz she is just CRACK head like her they both do DRUGS

What in God’s world is there to take serious with a 16 year old girl. She needs to hit the books – not the magazines!

  • lizzie

    Seventeen Magazine will pay.

  • marla

    @lizzie:

Brenda Song has done a lot more than Taylor Momsen.; SHE STARRED IN A HIT SHOW AND HAS MORE TALENT AND CHARISMA.
If Taylor Momsen did’nt dress like a C*#ack a****t h****ker she will not be at least in any tabloid’s radar.

  • nat

@Charlene: Actually I knew what I wanted at that age- I guess that’s why I didn’t did what typical teenagers do. Anyway, I think age doesn’t matter. I was very mature at that age and very reliable. If she knows what she wants and works hard for it; she can prove people wrong. There have been a lot of child actors that people trusted because they were reliable. For example, Natalie Portman.

Pretentious & stupid answer, 2 year old toddlers do not have the cognitive ability to decide what they want to do in later life. They have difficulty with the word cucumber for crying out aloud. Taylor’s a pretty girl but she should be concentrating on acquiring an education, not talking bullsh*t with her head up her pretty a$$.

What is a 16 year old doing on the cover of Seventeen anyway???

  • Ciara

A quick glance made me see Madonna.

  • LoveLeeR

    I did’nt like Jenny in the GG books,…and I don’t like this Jenny/Taylor either.

  • CanadaGirl

I can’t stand this girl. She is very trashy for a young girl, and a terrible role model for young women, as far as I am concerned.

  • dundies

my most substantial thoughts were probably nothing more important than where my next piece of candy was coming from!

She seems older than 16, is it legal to date her yet? even if it is pretend for the show

I live in Denmark and I’m the only one in my class that doesn’t smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol and almost everyone has also smoked bong and hash. People here drink almost every weekend from age 13, and if you don’t smoke or drink it’s really hard to fit in. So you shouldn’t complaint about Taylor. She doesn’t seem that bad – yet at least. I just hope for her that she doesn’t end up like Lindsay Lohan.

    What an idiotic child.

she think she’s really mature when she isnt…
im 16 as well, trust me im like u, i think im old enough 2 do some things but im really not
keep living ur crazy life and u’ll turn out like courtney love

  • Lilly

She is the most pretentious girl in Hollywood. Always thinking so highly of herself, especially as her inner “artist”. If she considers her trash talk on the internet and her bogus interview answers as displaying her maturity she has got the world wrong. Bottom line, she’s a trashy and conceded child that just needs to get out of the entertainment world.

  • XXXXXX

I agree with Lily (#24). She thinks she’s so creative and deep and artistic and mature. But, she’s not. She’s total trash.

  • fefe

I seriously do not like her or her character Jenny. They need to axe her out!

  • Per

I must admit: I love her, I love both her ‘private’ persona and her Jenny character on GG.

I especially love her style (which has spilled over into GG) and the fact that she does exactly what everybody says they do but don’t: Be an individual and develop your own personal style. Most people that claim to be individuals style-wise still dress according to the same boring norms like everybody else, ending up looking like everybody else. Not Taylor and we gotta love her for that.

Face it – A self-aware girl at 16 that has the guts to do it will dress in a variation of that Taylor does. She knows she’s a beautiful girl and she deliberately plays on it. She is obviously very sexually aware and enjoys playing with that as well. There’s always those long legs and she always uses makeup in interesting ways. I’ve always loved dramatic makeup and Taylor does it well.

I wish more teenage girls had the guts to dress and look like Taylor. Nothing empowers a girl like the control they have over boys using their sex appeal. The boys with their tongues hanging out of their mouths, drooling like dogs… Power breeds self confidence and that’s always good. If you got the brains or the talent, by all means use that. But if all you got is the look, use that to the max and get ahead that way. Don’t be the mouse sitting quietly while being left behind.

come on guys, we’ve all been teenagers, and i think it’s a well established fact that all teenagers think they know everything. which seems to be the case for miss momsen here. give the girl some slack. in a few years time, she’ll come to her senses and give up trying to be courtney love’s successor!

  • http://lol.com lol

shes trying to appear like a rockstar’s girlfriend
    oh yeah, what a career

    @krna:

yeah so true lol kids are funny in a way :)

I don’t know much about her at all, but she looks like a Avril Lavigne wannabe or the “Next” one. I also have seen photos of her and honestly why is she dressing up like a 18yr old? when she’s like 16?. There are photos of her with her band and her oufits look really trashy for a girl her age.
