Ashlee Simpson and husband Pete Wentz hold hands and wear silly Halloween masks while walking around Union Square, New York City on Tuesday afternoon (January 5).
This isn’t the first time Pete has worn a mask for paparazzi. Back in May 2008, Pete wore a paper plate over his face that read “YOUR AD COULD BE HERE… EMAIL: JON@D—–BAG.COM”

1-They are calling more attention to themselves and passers by are looking at them and then photographers.
2-This is dumb and no they have no sense of humor.
3-John Kennedy, Jr. and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis had a sense of humor and if the paps took pics of them as JKO and JFK,Jr. were doing they day-to-day things, they acted if the paps were not even there. That is a sense of humor and those people are 1 million times more famous than these Wentzs clowns.
4-Isn’t it illegal to wear masks out in public unless it is Halloween?The law excuses it for that day, but you cannot run around with your face hidden,hiding.
Nowdays with terriost attacks, crazy homegrown nuts who like shooting places like thePost Office, someone could innocently beat these two nuts up thinking they are terriosts.
Their faces are hidden. They are walking around and around. Someone could call the police . It could have ended in pr, dangerous pr ,but pr forthem. Somebody here , them, the police, could have gotten hurt.
5-They could not go in stores like that. they would have been shot. Robbers wear masks in places of business.

Yeah, she does with the mask on.
First, in the 30 years I have lived in NY and hung out in that park, I have NEVER seen one pap there. So if there were photogs, it was because THEY called them. Second, Union Sq park is one of the coolest, most laid back parks in the city. NO ONE gives a damn about any celebs strolling through. So the last thing they needed were masks. As cold as it is now in the city, no one is even hanging out there, so no one would have paid attention to these two attention wh@res anyway.

Agree with #17 – I, too, live in NYC and a few blocks away from Union Square. I can bet you no one (local) gave a rat’s butt they were there. Betcha people didn’t even know who they are …. so speculate the paps were called to the scene. Lame.
