Zoe Saldana: You Can Only Feel Blessed

Zoe Saldana speaks about her role in Avatar and how she learned to work with motion capture technology.

“To be part of a pioneer movement when it comes to motion capture and Avatar, you can only feel blessed,” the 31-year-old actress said in the newest issue of V magazine, which features eight up-and-coming Hollywood women.

“It is absolutely necessary to do a lot of background work, to do a lot of research and a lot of rehearsals,” Zoe added, “because you are pulling rabbits out of f—ing thin air when you do motion capture.”

Issue #63 of V magazine hits newsstands Thursday, January 14.

I love when people prove how closeminded they are by saying people who swear have a limited vocabulary. They are words, people. Nothing more than words. If it’s a turn off to you, than that’s fine, to each their own. But to so harshly judge someone based on their word usage? Wow, you must be terribly insecure.

I love Zoe, and everything she stands for.

@Clay, Do you mean to say she is not African American? All of you have roots from Africa no matter what country you were born in.
Clay you need to have stayed in school, all humans, Asian, White and Blacks have their roots in Africa, that has been scientifically proven that all people on the plant are related to Africans.

  • short-dating

    She has a nice body

  • clay

School is great. Though you do not have to be in school to learn certain things. Besides, it depends on what courses you take.

The comment that I made in my other post is valid. Their roots are in Africa and obviously of the dark African people there. There is nothing wrong with that.

She is dominican, not PR. Zoe said herself that she is a black woman. Black doesn’t necessarily always mean black American. There are black Latinos, etc. Here is Zoe’s exact quote:

When I go to the D.R., the press in Santo Domingo always asks, “¿Qué te consideras, dominicana o americana?” (What do you consider yourself, Dominican or American?) I don’t understand it, and it’s the same people asking the same question. So I say, time and time again, “Yo soy una mujer negra.” (“I am a black woman.”) [They go,] “Oh, no, tú eres trigueñita.” (“Oh no, you are ‘dark skinned’”) I’m like, “No! Let’s get it straight, yo soy una mujer negra.” (“I am a black woman.”)
