Jerry Seinfeld Returns to NBC with 'The Marriage Ref'

Jerry Seinfeld is headed back to the small screen in NBC’s forthcoming The Marriage Ref.

The 55-year-old funnyman will serve as both executive producer and a celebrity panelist on the show, Star magazine reports.

“There is no way to explain to you exactly what the show is,” Jerry said, but he described it as a mix between a reality show, game panel and a comedy.

“[A feuding husband and wife] want to end their fight,” Jerry explained, “and the person who wins has to say to the other, ‘You’re right.’”

Also appearing on the celeb panel and helping decide which spouse wins are Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey.

The Marriage Ref will air beginning Sunday, February 28 on NBC.

So good to have Jerry back. Miss him!

I hope this is good = might be his last shot! I don’t think he can recapture the audience like he is wanting to do! Prove me wrong, Jerry!

doesn’t really sound like a good premise – who wants to see people arguing?

I looks like jerry lost weight though. that’s probably good.

they need to put together a “curb your enthusiasm” type sitcom for NBC. Something edgy, smart, and very funny. Not another reality panel show.

Yuck. I fight enough in my own marriage thank you.

It sounds kinda stupid, he only dates newlyweds

knowing his brand of funny, this show is gonna be horrible
i seriously do not get how u ppl in the 80s or 90s, whenever it was, found it funny
ive watched a couple of episodes of sienfeld and i turned it off after the 1st 5 mins, he’s not even a bit funny
wtf is up with his face, it kinda looks like he’s had some work done

show sounds stupid

This Serie isn’t what I expected. It is boring, and not funny. there is no substance. NBC is lost and Jerry Seinfeld should have known better !

I must add that the format, the presenter, putting Jerry Seinfeld and stars on such a panel is a disaster. Councelling People; ironically it is just another reality show, edited into this show ! Having Stars on a Panel makes you wonder who should councel who ! Knowing that most stars are not saints in relationships. Frankly this show is not for me. Seinfeld and other stars must be highly paid to do such boring material !

I did not laugh one time on the Marriage Ref. Poor, pathetic show. Jerry Seinfeld could do better. I am disappointed. The closing ceremony of the Olympics was better.

Jerry Seinfeld stole this idea from the sidetaker.com website.

This show is a carbon copy of Sidetaker. Tom Papa even uses the old Sidetaker slogan “Who’s right and who’s wrong?”

Jerry says he “created the idea” he should have said “I’m rich, greedy, been out of TV for 12 years, pretty much own NBC so I stole the idea from Sidetaker to create this show.” What a scum bag!!!

He says he “came up” with the idea on his own what a lie! He came up with the idea 2 months after the New York Post did a 2 page story on Sidetaker. The Sidetaker website first debuted back in Sept.2008 the Marriage Ref “idea” came out by Jerry last summer.

And as most people know Seinfeld lives in New York City so either he or his wife read the NYPost story.

The truth needs to be told how he stole the show idea and claimed it as his!!

Do your research then write another article on the truth about Jerry Seinfeld’s show.

I looked forward to something that Jerry Seinfeld was involved in. To my disappointment, I will not watch again. The panel was insulting to the featured couples. It was almost like three people had a few too many drinks and were unable to contain their insulting remarks. Too bad. The show reminded me of a Jerry Springer show. Yuk!
