Taylor Kitsch Leaves 'Friday Night Lights'

Taylor Kitsch, aka bad boy Tim Riggins, won’t be back next season as a series regular on Friday Night Lights.

Executive producer Jason Katims tells TV Guide Magazine that the 28-year-old actor is pursuing a film career, including the sci-fi fantasy film John Carter of Mars that starts shooting this month.

“Because this was a big opportunity for him, we wanted to let him do that,” says Katims. “We’ll stay in close contact with production and try to get him for as many episodes as possible.”

The fourth season of Friday Night Lights currently airs on DirecTV through February (most likely its penultimate).

Who cares, the kid wasnt even that good in friday night lights, some of you lonely females need to get out of your house. This shit is sad that you convinced yourself that a dude on TV was your boyfriend. Smh, soeity and those people who live in their own world.

  • Mileena

It’s going to be hard to watch FNL without Riggins. But he has bright future in film. The Bang Bang Club is going to be a BIG role for him and John Carter of Mars as well. He is at least leaving and going right in to solid, interesting projects.

  • Kandance

I love him on the show but, it’s good that he’ll be leaving next season

  • Ashley

I can’t wait to see him in more films. He was amazing in Wolverine…:)

  • Logan

    This was announced months ago.

I have not seen this season yet, but it is only natural that his character leave since they all have. I must say, I hate the fact that nearly all the original “kids” are now gone. The show was still good last season, but not the same without Smash and Jason. Riggins is my favorite, so I am not sure if I will be watching next season.

  • cassie

Logan, I totally agree with you!

Gash, without Riggins it’s gonna be totally different… I saw a few episodes of 4th season… To be honest, I miss all originals… I guess the real Friday Night Lights is just three first seasons, especially I love the first one . Gash I can’t still believe it!
Friday Night Lights was, is and always will be one of the best serials ever!!!
