OlderZoe Saldana: Avon’s Latest Lady for 'Eternal Magic'
Avatar star Zoe Saldana is the newest face for the Avon fragrance, Eternal Magic, which takes inspiration from the rare flower Princess Monaco Rose.
“It means so much to me to be associated with a company that shares my values and believes in empowering women,” the 31-year-old actress tells People.
Geralyn Breig, Senior Vice President and President of Avon North America, adds, “We are thrilled to have Zoe as the spokesperson for Eternal Magic (out in April). Every woman wants to be unforgettable and Zoe perfectly embodies that feeling. Why does she always play the roles meant for A.American actresses, like in Star Trek for example,,,drumline and othersI have never seen her casted as a Hispanic in anything, why?

I agree. Zoe is a foreigner and should never have had the role of Lt. Uhura in Star Trek. Jada Smith would have been better and so would Thandie Newton. Zoe is much darker than the original Lt. Uhura anyway. I hope for Star Trek II they chose a better actress to play the role.

She looks lovely. I saw her in Star Trek and Avatar, she was terrific.
@Amber – Zoe isn’t a foreigner . She was born in New Jersey and spent her early childhood in Queens. She’s an American citizen.
Maybe it was Nichelle Nichols who was too light to play an AFRICAN woman.
Zoe has played Latina (she’s not Hispanic) characters. In Center Stage, her character was Eva Rodriquez and in Terminal she played Dolores Torres. Those are two that I know of and both are Latina names.
She’s in been in a movie filmed in the Dominican Republic (in Spanish) as well as Spanish music videos.
Zoe’s fluent in 2 languages and is a fine actress. Educate your ignorant selves before you criticize!!!

Zoe is so pretty. Love her. Glad she’s FINALLY getting some well-deserved recognition as an actress. Just don’t understand why it’s taken so long!
