Kate Gosselin hangs out with hairstylist Ronnie Peterson from the Ted Gibson Salon on Friday (January 8).
The 34-year-old reality star will return to TLC later this year with a show of her own, TheWrap reports.
While it won’t feature the kids or Jon, the show will reportedly feature Kate trying her hand at different jobs – last month, she was spotted serving food at a restaurant in North Carolina!
“It’s more like Kate Gosselin, firefighter,” TheWrap‘s source said, “not Kate Gosselin, wife and homemaker.”

I’ll watch a few episodes. Jon’s going to see what a jerk he is when no one wants him for anything. He used to work in computer field — he better start looking for a job real soon, ’cause the man has no income after he acted all stupid and told TLC he didn’t want his kids filmed anymore. He shot off his nose to spite his face and now look at him. I used to feel so sorry for him in the beginning, but soon realized why Kate was the way she was. She didn’t have 8 children, she had 9!!
I only watched the show for the kids. So no, I won’t be watching this one.
Who will watch this new show? It sounds like a really bad idea. Kate is so stiff on camera and does not have the personality to deal with the public in this way as she can’t guarantee in advance that they will all be fans. Maybe TLC will be hiring actors to pose and real people to make it work. How will she handle having to wear a hairnet on her new weave if the job requires it?

My aunt supported 7 children on a RN’s salary when my uncle died and while it was no picnic they lived decently and all went to, or are in college. RN’s are not paid badly in most cities, especially as there is a huge shortage of them. I guess that one extra child means Kate needs a tv gig to support “them” in the lifestyle she has become accustomed to.
Her hair looks awful. I hate extensions and people should not change who they are!

1. The only reason why I watched “jon and kate plus 8″ was because of the kids; not because of Kate. During the later episodes, they cut the children off of camera time and started showing Kate on the chair more w. phrases like, “I think, I feel, I act, I say…” All about kate
2. Don’t give me a reason about how you can support your kids and income BS. Older generations have had liters of children and have managed to do okay in life. My greatgrandma had 12 kids – both worked and all kids are doing well in lives w. their families
3. Stop using “oh i have 8 kids” as an excuse. It’s been reported she had arguments w. the government of pennsylvania when she had all her kids because “it’s not fair”. That community had to put up w. so much BS fr. them – medical workers to take care of the babies, volunteers, church gatherings that expected money

I am surprised that none of the brainiacs at TLC thought to do a show for Kate showing her tragic, selfless struggle of going back to work as a lowly RN and how difficult it is to keep a mansion maintained and pay her organic chef and stable of nannies on such a “small” salary. She already has the “poor me” act down, why not cash in on it. The nurse has might crush her new hair but I am sure TLC would pay to have it fluffed on her days off.

Maybe she should try a few jobs at home she hasn’t done in a while. She could read to her children, bath them, cook for them, clean her house, do laundry. Kate should do the RN job, it pays well and is a very respected field. She looks old in the new extensions without the benefit of photoshop. Like any other true life divorced mother or father with primary custody, she will find that her life style will be falling. Why wait to lose it all? Downsize now and budget any surplus she has left after the lawyers. I hope they put something away for the children, after all…the children did perform in front of the cameras too. They deserved to be paid and have the money put away for them, not have it blown by either parent. Where does it say children have to support themselves in this country?

I’m all for Kate getting the roles, and for staying on TLC, and if the program is interesting, we’ll watch. However, I would rather stay with “Kate plus 8″, let the children stay on television, as they want to, and show them being Mom and Kids, real life, going places, doing things like they did before, but without the idiot adulterer Jon.
The are children and want what their parents tell them to want. They have been followed around their whole lives, they know nothing different. That does not make it okay. It is not a normal, healthy life for a child to be paraded around like a circus animal for the television viewing public because the are “cute” and there are a lot of them. When they are older and no longer adorable they will be tossed aside unless TLC has iron clad contracts to film them losing their virginity’s or going to rehab or prison like so many other child tv personalities. These children were not born for our entertainment, despite what their parents have planned for them.
So how will Jon pay back the money now? marry a rich girl? or start a new reality show?

I think that Kate has alienated so many people among her family and friends that she is probably feeling very alone and is taking very bad career advice from someone. Although there are some die hard Kate lover, most people seem to really hate her and think she is a bad mother which is, in my opinion, the worst thing you can say about a woman. Maybe she should take a year or more off, to let the public forget about her. Reality shows seem to be cursed for almost everyone who participates in them. Why would she want to do another?

I am in. I enjoyed watching her on JK+8 and I will absolutely tune in to see what she is up to. She is an inspiration for many women. Her marriage fell apart in front of millions of people and her life imploded. Now she is picking up the pieces and letting go of old ways of thinking. She is learning and growing and her experiences and journey can help others learn and grow too. She is funny and not opposed to laughing at herself. I really don’t understand all of the negativity. So many people bash her and want to see her fail. In my opinion that is more of a reflection on the lack of character of those individuals then on her.
For not not liking her or not wanting anything to do with her new show, you people sure seem to be following her life pretty well. And from a man’s viewpoint I think her hair looks great. Maybe there is a little green monster at work. I believe she’s a “Legend in her own mind”. I believe Jon has acted like an immature idiot but on the other hand, she’s a woman that has to be in control. If it’s not her way, hit the road. I do commend her on her organizational skills. When she turned down all the donations her father’s church gave and she turned them down because things didn’t match, she wanted hard cash, just what does that say about her christian upbringing.
