I like her, she was absolutely wonderful in Precious. If there were any justice, she would win for her fantastic performance. And she looks really good here.

Her dress is pretty.I get it that it rained and you cannot do anything about that.
I wish she had lifted and carried her train.
It rains,but life goes on.

@ivanka:

Have you seen Precious? If not, then I can somewhat understand your ignorance…on second thought, not really.

@ivanka: she’s ridicilously talented! she CAN act!!!!

Love you Gabby Girl!

ATHE END OF THE DAY SOME1 CHARACTER SHOULD B ALL U SEE BUT U CONSTANTLY BELITTLE SOME1 BECAUSE OF THE WAY THEY LOOK . SOME OF U R TOOO HEARTLESSS , NO WONDER THE WORLD IS IN SUCH A STATE. GABBBY KEEEP FUFILLIN UR DREAMS , BE THE BEST U , U CAN POSSIBLY B.

This b**ch can not act, same exact sentiment applies to her costar who just won the award in the supporting actress category. What a farce. Julianne Moore deserved the award, f**k this s**t.

I don’t like her dress, too bad it got wet

brightside @ 01/17/2010 at 9:09 pm

@bajan: But lose weight too – be the best yes, but it’s important to look after your health too and being so overweight isn’t that healthy. Also if she lost a few pounds she would be even more confident.

The irony is that Gabourey has had the opposite kind of life than Precious. But there’s perception that dark-skinned, fat, African American women are all suffering horrible abuse and dispair. So untrue. Sure, there is poverty, abuse, but there are a lot of just plain ordinary blacks living their lives to the best of their ability. And movies like Precious perpetuate this stereotype ad nauseum. I like that Gabourey has a great attitude. She seems genuinely nice and it’s important that we recognize that human beings come in all sizes, shapes and colors. However, as someone who thinks that obesity has gotten out of hand in America and by that I’m talking about people who tip the scales over 200lbs, don’t exercise and have a poor diet, Gabourey is NOT a role model. The lesson in her success is more about the importance of having a good attitude no matter what you look like or what ethnicity you are. There are enough people with bad attitudes around. That’s what people should take away, not that a fat person can be a star. Try to lose weight, exercise and be healthy. And have a good attitude. Her dress getting wet was unfortunate. Why wasn’t someone looking out for her? Where is her manager and PR people?

@Ilia: shut up b!tch

I get the whole ” I am big and proud” and all that jazz but promoting obesity is just as bad as promoting thinness. This girl is not healthy. She is more at risk serious illness than your skinny “bobble head” actress. The sad truth is this girl got the part because she looked the part. The movie found her. She was great (not award worthy though) but I don’t see her going far in Hollywood. No one will cast her as a lead. She will get the stereotypical roles that cast her only because of her weight. I see her only as a one hit wonder

I agree, where are the people that should be helping her, like her PR, etc. Many of the other stars dresses were not even that wet.

It is really a shame that someone didn’t help her so that her dress remained dry. She is new to Hollywood, new to the red carpet, and someone should have been guiding or helping her out here.

Poor girl can’t get a break. No one helped the new girl? Well that’s Hollywood for you. Fake plastic b*tches.

hope she wins.
