Maggie Gyllenhaal: You Can Stand Under My Umbrella

Maggie Gyllenhaal braves the rain in Los Angeles on Tuesday (January 19) by standing under a huge umbrella.

The 32-year-old actress recently told USA Today that she felt she had to take the part of Jean in Crazy Heart after taking time off to raise her daughter Ramona, 3.

“When I got this script, I was in this state of wanting something for me, selfishly, after having sacrificed a lot of things,” Maggie said.

“I felt really hungry – I felt like I’d spent two years mostly focused on my daughter, which was amazing. It changed everything in my life. And then I got this surge of really strong desire to work and do something for me.”

“Crazy Heart” is very good, Jeff and Maggie are excellent.

I hope you didn’t pay for that picture, Jared.

I love Maggie G.! I’ve seen all her movies and she is one of the most interesting actresses around. No matter how dumb the movie is, like the one with Will Farrell, Maggie is always really good. She is fun to watch. I’m going to see Crazy Heart bcz of her…and bcz of Colin Farrell.
I like Jeff Bridges, but if it was just him, I’d wait for it to come on cable.

I’m starting to believe she doesn’t like her daughter.

This Hollywood bitch is always mentioning how much of an effort is to raise her child.
She has money, nannies and lots of free time and, still, she makes it sound like it’s a big sacrifice.

If you regret becoming a parent just say so!!

    @Su:

She isn’t saying she regrets being a parent, if you’d actually read the article properly she clearly states she “finds it amazing”.

She is completely entitled to work again whenever she wants, she’s had a 2 year hiatus which is a long time in Hollywood and now she simply feels ready to go back to work.

I for one am excited for her return as I really love her and her films.

I’m sure Maggie, Peter, Ramona and Jake are having a great time together :)

Sacrifice!!!! What a crock…she has absolutely no idea what sacrifice is. Celebrities are clueless about the outside world.

  • Liv

Every GOOD parent sacrifice for her / his kids. Being a parent is the most responsible job on the planet.
