OlderWhoopi Goldberg Makes Broadway Cameo in 'The Lion King'!
Whoopi Goldberg struts her stuff onstage at the Minskoff Theatre in New York City as she appears in surprise cameos in Broadway’s The Lion King on Thursday (January 14).
The 54-year-old actress performed throughout the show in bit parts, including The Bird Lady and Rafiki, for a feature airing next month on The View!
Whoopi originated the role of Shenzi, the hyena, in the 1994 Disney animated feature. She took home her first Tony in 2002 as a producer of Thoroughly Modern Millie!

I saw The Lion King on broadway a few years ago and loved it! I’d love to see it again.
How on Earth could she pull off Rafiki? Does she have enough pipes to sing “Circle of life”?
COOL!! I love Whoopi, she’s such an amazing actress. I totally see her in this role. I saw the Lion King at Disneyland and it was awesome. She’d kill it. I loved her as Shenzi, the hyena in the original Disney movie…Ed was funny as hell hahahaha “-Mufasa -woohooohooo!”
