Rihanna‘s latest video music video has arrived — “RUDE BOY!”
The highly stylized vid was directed by Melina Matsoukas, who also directed the video for “Hard”.
“[The video] completely different from any other video I’ve shot before,” Rihanna has said. “A lot of my videos are really dark and edgy and tough. ‘Rude Boy’ is more playing along the lines from my roots… We used a lot of color, but also the costumes were very Jamaican dance-hall queen type.”

The song is actually good… but it would sound way better being sung by someone who doesn’t have a whiny, nasal voice. Her voice gets on my nerves, it’s like acid to the ears. The only vocalist worse than Rihanna is Taylor Swift. Anyway, the video is nice, and yes it’s a ripoff of other videos and whatnot, but what do you expect from Rihanna? She’s the queen of unoriginality. She swagger-jacks everyone every chance she gets, Beyonce, Grace Jones, Kelis, Lady Gaga, Freddie Mercury… the ****** has ripped off all of those people and then some. ummm red, yellow, green and lions and zebrads are all African related colors and symbols too, so she could be repping her ORIGINAL roots, not neccessarily JA or any other island. Just like African Americans, West Indians were brought to those islands through the slave trade from Africa.
