OlderHayden Panettiere Covers 'Self' March 2010
Hayden Panettiere is ready to hit the beach on the cover of Self magazine’s March 2010 issue.
Inside the issue, the 20-year-old Heroes hottie speaks about her true-life role in the documentary The Cove, where she joins a protest of whale and dolphin slaughter. Here’s what Hayden had to share:
On being a young celeb: “There’s an expectation for me to be the next Messed-Up Party Girl. But I just focus on living my life, being myself and doing what I love.”
On the beauty of exploring open waters: “You might get in water so deep that you hear a humpback whale singing, but you see absolutely nothing, just rays of light.”
On making a difference: “I left knowing I’m not going to let those dolphins die in vain. Their deaths will help show the world the big picture. I’ve also taken a lot of trips to D.C. and met with senators about the issue. I even met with Barack Obama, when he was campaigning. He said he grew up in Hawaii so dolphins and whales are very close to him. I knew I had two minutes to reel off what I wanted to get across. He was larger than live and so nice. Laws and politics—that’s where things change.”

curvy and healthy I love this woman, saw the Cove last month and it was so moving it made me appreciate even more her passion about the cause of saving dolphins and sea creatures. Amazing work Hayden

I always find myself wanting to dislike her, but I just can’t do it because I love how much of an animal rights activist she is. I really respect that.

OMG! So what if she’s changing her appearance?? If she’s the only one who dyed her hair you wouldn’t have all these hair dyes at your local Walmart!! Also, who’s to say she went under the knife and that’s not just Photoshop?? Even if she does go out and party – her handlers do a good job of keeping it on the down low b/c I NEVER see anything about her falling over drunk or anything like that in the press. However she’s young and most kids her age are out there partying and enjoying life. She works hard so if she wants to party – good for her!
