Tiger Woods Admits Affairs During Public Apology

Tiger Woods spoke out about his infidelity and apologized to his family, friends, fans and business partners.

Here are some highlights from Tiger‘s speech:

  • Elin never hit me that night or any other night. There has never been an episode of domestic violence in our marriage, ever.
  • Elin deserves praise, not blame. The issue here was my repeated, irresponsible behavior. I was unfaithful. I had affairs. I cheated. What I did was not acceptable, but I am the only person to blame.
  • I stopped living by the core values that i was taught to believe in. I knew my actions were wrong, but I convinced myself that normal rules didn’t apply…instead I only thought about myself.
  • I thought I could get away with whatever I wanted to, deserve to enjoy all the temptations around me. I thought I was entitled. Thanks to money and fame, i didn’t have to go far to find them. I was wrong; I was foolish. I don’t get to play by different rules. The same boundaries that apply to everyone apply to me. I brought this shame on myself. I hurt my wife, my kids, my mother, my wife’s family, my friends, my foundation and kids all around the world who admired me.”
  • Despite the damage I have done, I still believe it is right to shield my family from the public spotlight. I always tried to maintain a private space from my sponsors. When my children were born, we only released photographs so the paparazzi could not chase them. They staked out my wife and they pursued my mom. Whatever my wrongdoings, for the sake of my family, please leave my wife and my kids alone.
  • As I move forward, I will continue to receive help. Starting tomorrow, I will leave for more treatment and more therapy.
  • I do plan to return to golf one day, I just don’t know when that will be. When I do return, I need to make my behavior more respectful of the game.

His speech had pros and cons. But I don’t understand why he is apologizing to us. He didn’t cheat on me. Apologize to your wife hun.

There it is! I hope he not only says the words, but believes them as well. After marriage, you aren’t entitled.

He was as he always is- controlled, narcissitic, entitled and thinking that he is “above the rest”.

This was all a plan for his re-emergence into professional golf- nothing more, nothing less. This was an appeasement first to his sponsors, then the trickle down affect- his business associates, handlers, fellow golfers, and at the bottom rung- the fans.

    No emotion from him what-so-ever.

I feel bad for his wife and children if she does decide to work things out with him- he may play the “I’m changing game” for awhile, but then it will all be back to what Tiger “wants” – Tiger “gets”.

    Poorly executed in my opinion,

A great and humble apology. No punches pulled. No spinning.

I really like the way that he cleared the air on behalf of his wife.

Some of you sound really bitter, mean and hateful. It’s worrisome for the future of our country, that there are so many of you on various websites and message boards.

I miss the old days. You know “polite soceity”. Now it seems that about a third of us have the same inner sensibility of a Broadway critic–but of course sans the talent.

Wow the transcript came out fast. I wonder what TMZ thinks about it now.
I still think it’s ridiculous that he has to apologize for the way he deals with private matter. I know it’s the reality of showbiz but I still strongly disagree…

What was funny was directly after the statement, attorney Gloria Alred gave her own press conference where she is representing her second Tiger Woods mistress. The one who is the p o r ni actress She wanted an apology to her client and was pissed he didn’t apologize to the women.. lmao! Dream on Gloria.

Insincere and showed him to be exactly what he is and what he always will be: An ENTITLED NARCISSIST!

He said what had to be said to re-position himself professionally.

He thinks of himself as some kind of semi-”God” due to his talent, wealth & fame.

If he isn’t proof enough of what excessive wealth & fame can do to a person’s psyche, I don’t know who or what is.

Word is the Woods has a big uncut *****! And that there are pics taken by one of his many ******….

He is a spoiled narcissistic brat! He should appologize to his wife. He’s a sex addict and like any addict will require years of rehabilition. I am relieved he didn’t make a BIGGER ass than he already has by announcing his return to golf today. Because that would have been a mistake. Less than a month at a sex rehabilition facility….so at least there’s that. He’s gross, he’s cheap, he’s classless. NOT AN AMERICAN HERO!

Pretty good “performance.” He’s saying what he has to do to get his career back on track. For all of you who believe him, how do you know he’s telling the truth? After all, before all of this happened, you all probably believed that he was a good family man, too.

And, to those of you who say he should apologize to his wife, I’m sure he’s apologized to her privately. He doesn’t need to apologize to her publicly.

Finally, what exactly is rehab going to do? Once a cheater, always a cheater. A rehab for guys who cheat on their wives? 90% of married men should be there.

He apologize becuase the media make it, as if he is the only human in earth who did this thing. This suppose to be between his wife and him. It should not be a media circuis like this. I feel sorry to be black and make it in the world. if you do what exactly the other do ,then every littel thing you accomplish washed out compeletly. if the world see the same way to every , We be a perfect society. shame.

JUST THINK IF HEATH LEDGER DID THE SAME THING AND WENT
TO REHAB HE WOULD STILL BE ALIVE TODAY.. AND ADMITTED TO
THE PUBLIC THAT HE HAD A ADDICTION TO BOOZE AND DRUGS.
Instead his daughter will never know him but as a loser drug addict
or overdosed….So go ahead and make fun of Tiger …Well Gloria
why would he say he is sorry.. to his whores who he paid for their
services as if the second didn’t know that she was not the only one..

Such a joke. This jerk doesn’t deserve the time of day. This whole press conference was a staged, controlled mess. This isn’t going to help him at all.

Where are those loose careless women hunting after Tiger day in and day out? They are the ones I need to hear apology from.

    Tiger is a *****.
    ***** always be a *****

i’m glad he admitted those things. poor elin and kids. they didn’t deserve this

I agree with whoever said that he didn’t owe us anything and didn’t have to apologize to the public. He’s only doing this to clear his image and reacquire his sponsorship where he’s raking a quite of $$$, Too late Tiger. You may play golf again, but your image is tarnished and you’ll always be the infamous cheater w/ 13 mistresses.

he seems to be very intelligent. i has recognized his mistakes want to work hart now to make it better. for that i have a lot of respect for im!

He seems to be very intelligent. he has recognized his bad behaviour and now he wants to work hard to make it better. he seems to know what he has to do now. I have a lot of respect for him! wish him the best

You know what? I am over this. It was a three ring circus. I think he said everything that needed to be said. He could spend the rest of his life apologizing and it wouldn’t be enough for some people. I think it is time for EVERYONE to crawl out from under Tiger’s bed now and move on. This is between him and his wife now. It has moved out of the public eye. Period. Let him do his rehab, and try to rebuild his personal relationships with the people in his life he has harmed.
Tiger has a long productive life ahead of him. The only people who want to keep this issue alive are the ones who want to make some money off of it. So they will milk it.

well……. all people has that false picture of him since that scandal and now he has to work on his image and has to show the public that he really want to change himself. I understand him for that public apology!

Whatevs. Once the stuff is out of the cow its hard to put it back in. There isn’t much he can do or say to change my opinion of him.
