    goooooooooo monique

  • happy girl

great look for her shape. love the color.

  • congrats

Although I’ve had my issues with her she gave THE performace of the year adn truly deserved this. She explained on E’s after party show that the blue color is the same that Hattie McDaniel wore when she got her Oscar and the flower is the same flower that hattie McDaniel wore as well. McDaniel won for Gone With The Wind and was the first African American to win an Academy Award.

her speech was unnecessary and over the top. just lame.
the face sam jackson made after her speech was fcuking priceless.

  • Iggles

    Her speech was GREAT!
She gave thanks to those who came before her, and those who matter to her in her life.
Mo’Nique was right about the politics — folks had a problem with her not promoting the movie for enough. That stuff shouldn’t matter, only your performance.
I really dislike the movie and was happy she didn’t kiss the director’s a** like they usually do. She kept it real, and she kept it classy. From what I heard, she gave a great perform so kudos to her!

  • Whoever

Jared!!! Do a post on Samuel Jackson facial expression?! I really want to know why he did it! Hilarious!

  • Venom

    You go Mo’Nique.
    Well deserved.

  • yo sista

She looked good and she deserved it.

  • All Women Stalker

Okay now I’m curious about Sam Jackson’s facial expression. I will have to check YouTube

  • Ilia

She was not good, and she did not deserve to win the most coveted award. Woman doesn’t have enough respect for people in general to clean herself up and shave her legs, she is a nasty slob. Her performance in “Precious” was overrated, and sub-par at best. I dislike people who carry themselves with a certain air of self-entitlement, and she is one of them. B*tch, you are nothing but a second rate, stand-up comedian, get over it.

  • Alexa

So happy for her, she’s come a long way! Very well deserved.

  • happy girl

    sam jackson was funny.

  • betty

    Her speech was great!

  • SteveDenver

    Hers was a stunning performance.
    @Ilia: You’re a hilarious hyena.

  • Drama

She acted like she was only the second black woman to even be invited to the Oscars. Sam Jackson was reacting to her pre-racial drama. He’s like; “We’re past that, ma’am. We’ve been getting good roles and awards, this is not a breakthrough so enough with the drama.”

Halle Berry… Jennifer Hudson… ( who was ALSO a fat woman, also a newcomer)

  • janie

    She is a racist!

  • Ronda

I love Monique and I’m happy for her success. She deserves to win IMO.

  • Angie

I think she deserved to win this award.. just her speech was really unnecessary .. It was a bit rude & condescending ..

  • mare

She is a bit”h and racist. She was great in the movie but probably played herself in terms of the personality. She will not get another role She is not well-liked and very demanding for no reason

  • JensenLUVER Tanya

you know i never really liked her only because i felt like she over did it when acting. seems ignorant and rude. i was stuck somewhere and the movie was on. didnt get to see the whole thing but seen a enough skit of her in it and she had me believing. Thought she was great. She definetly deserves this one. CONGRATS MO!!!!!

  • francia

She just deserves it cause man she make me hate that character she played, and god knows i don’t hate anyone in real life !!

You go girl cause u were brilliant in that last office scene !

  • Go Ask Alice

    I am Black American.

    Monique looked great.
She is a plus size girl but sure has a good stylist who suits her upn right and makes the adjustments and Monique carrries her frame with grace, confidence.

Her speech was racist. Her speech was not neccesary. Not everything and everybody in the world is racist or about race.
How great it would have been if she just thanked the cast, crew, Gabby esp., the director,Perry Tyler and Oprah Winfrey for taking a financial risk on this great movie and her, and thanked her family , friends, and esp husband and son for all their time, love, and support.
Then she could have played the hum,ble and gracious card by saying how honored and thankful she is to the Acad emy and that she is so very grateful and , long way from being in the entertainment business from she she first started out.Thank you all.
    THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone wants to hear a classy, gracious and wonderful, sincere speech, check out Hattie McDaniel’s speech.

Also, Hattie Berry’s speech was way over the top….uneccesary.

  • pooper

Tired of people doing the race card! Enuf!

    Good actress? Yes.

she did not need to do that kind of “rub it in” speech. Wrong place to do the race card type speech

  • Reviewer

She’s an unpleasant woman. yes the racial comments are old and don’t work anymore. just trying to get the attention. The part she played wasn’t a far shot from her real personality so at best she shoulda been one of the door attendees.

  • Reviewer

thats what i said in my comment. she prolly played herself in that role, but had to tone it down..haha!

  • rachelsun

You ignorant inbred a%%holes are fools! There was nothing racist about her speech. The politics she was referring to was the kissing up to Hollywood for the Oscar instead of letting the role speak for itself. That applies to anyone of any color. THAT was the politics she was referring to idiots. There was nothing racist about her speech. She paid tribute to Hattie McDaniels as the previous poster said as she was the first to win. As for Sam Jackson unless you are a mind reader who knows what he was thinking at that time. You people are pathetic cowards and yes she has every right to hold her head high and think highly of herself. She’s earned unlike the rest of you!

  • lilitapop

    fake !!!

  • Ann

The same person is posting under different names saying Mo’Nique is racist. Nobody agree with your crazy posting. Really you are the one that’s racist.
Congrats to Mo’Nique. She looked beautiful.

  • dumblk

    # 28 rachelsun

…we know where and why you are posting your crapola.

Everyone knows what that woman was referring to and yOU know it too!

    LOL….YOU are the idiot

  • Claire

I am proud of Mo’Nique!! Hope she kills it on her upcoming tour as well.

  • ltrdating

    she is pretty

  • Hoop-La

I see that a few people said that Mo’Nique “has come a long way”.
From where? Certainly not too far from the buffet bar!

Her performance was way overrated. I’ve never really seen her do anything except the same one note role, over and over. And as far as her talk show goes, it seems to consist of her inviting handsome male actors on, and throwing a fit…”Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm, child, how you stay so fine?”…and other such remarks. Yeah, that’s real talent, lol.

  • Shirley Roberts

Racist speech. I was wanting her to win and I jumped up and yelled when she did. I was happy until she opened her mouth and made it sound like she was the first black person ever invited to the Oscars. How about Sidney Poitier, Halle Berry, Jennifer Hudson, and on and on.

  • wes

Monique is a pathetic actress. She went from the movie Soul Plane, to Phat Girlz, to Beer Fest, and then to Prescious to win an oscar. This is really just humorous. But to top it all off, Monique goes on a racial tyrade thanking Tyler Perry and Oprah for getting this movie out there, and some more racial bull shit about how her achievement is momentuous considering she is African-American. Sam Jackson’s expression says it all. First of all it’s rediculous she won the oscar, considering she played herself in the movie, and the racial speeches are way outdated. We elected a black president, Monique all you did was win an undeserved oscar.

  • Radi

ok so..i honestly dont know who she is but if she gets an Oscar that means she’s talanted..but..ewww look at her unshaved arms! and i saw other pics of her legs she probably proves Darwin’s theory that we come from the monkeys…
