OlderSummer Glau Throws On Her Cape
Summer Glau is coming back to primetime with NBC’s superhero-themed drama pilot, The Cape.
THR reports the 28-year-old actress will play Orwell, “a cute and intrepid investigative blogger who fearlessly goes after corrupt cops and costumed bad guys.”
The pilot centers around a former cop (David Lyons) who is “set up as a criminal and becomes a masked hero, the Cape, to clear his name. ”
Summer has a huge sci-fi audience after starring in Fox’s Firefly, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Dollhouse.

Summer’s fanbase guarantees her work in sci-fi shows that call for a young hottie who can kick butt. “The Cape” seems to be more comic book than sci-fi so it will be interesting to see if her new character allows her to expand her acting chops. Also will be good to see how she does away from Joss Whedon-scripted series.
I was surprised to learn she’s 28. Her lithe form and cute face make her seem 21. She’s pretty cool with the paparazzi and that’s a good thing!

The show doesn’t sound all that great, but I’d watch Summer and David in pretty much anything. I’ll give it a go. I bet they wish TSCC and ER were still on the air though…
