Miley Cyrus Covers 'Parade' Magazine

Miley Cyrus Covers 'Parade' Magazine

Miley Cyrus is all smiles on the cover of this week’s Parade magazine, out this Sunday (March 21).

Here’s what the 17-year-old teen queen had to share:

On former flames Nick Jonas and Justin Gaston: “Nick and I were so young. We really did have a genuine love, but it wasn’t like this. We met when I was 12. I didn’t know who I was. I know who I am now and am so content and full of purpose. [Justin] was a good person, so carefree.”

“All I know is that I am so happy right now. I wasn’t last summer after I called it off with Justin and went away to film The Last Song. I cried all the way there. The last thing I was expecting to do was to fall in love. I went there thinking the summer was about me and getting focused on my career. But I guess God was like, ‘Girl, here is this amazing guy.’ ”

On her faith: “I don’t necessarily define my faith by going to church every Sunday. Because now when I go to church, I feel like it’s a show. There are always cameras outside. I am very spiritual in my own way. Let me make it clear, though—I am a Christian. Jesus is who saved me. He’s what keeps me full and whole. But everyone is entitled to what they believe and what keeps them full. Hopefully, I can influence people and help them follow the same path I am on, but it is not my job to tell people what they are doing wrong.”

  • Rhonda

    just stay away from poles and broke photographers!

  • Jenny

    She sounds very ungrateful. Miley sounds a lot like Katherine Heigl in this article.

  • http://justjared monica

    FUGLY SLUT!!!!!!!!!

  • me

    well, well, well, what does a 17 year-old GIRL have the world to tell?
    NOTHING, she knows sh*t and talks accordingly.

  • Jo

    So clearly for her, all the people who aren’t christians are WRONG ? is that the word she USED ??? REALLY ????!!!!! Dangerous little girl who doesn’t know what she’s talking about…

  • Snickers

    you guess are so immature. grow up and stop picking on a 17 year old…@jo…she didn’t say that! all she said was it is not her job to tell people what to do, what is and isn;t wrong..and she is right!…you people are pathetic…and trust me im no hannah montanna fan or pay to much attention to miley but seriously is there nothin better to do then pick on her? and call her fat and ugly?? what the hell is beauty to you people..if she lost weight you guys would bash her for being anorexic!

  • http://tvjuicer.org/ juicer

    Can’t wait to see what her next project will be. I’m sure it will be something that will keep the media talking.

  • Dread’s

    @Jenny: right on. She does sound idiot in this. Well, she speaks like she is 30. She has a lot to learn.

  • kilo

    that was pretty dumb.. she said it’s not her job to tell people what they’re doing wrong, as if someone who is not on the same path as her, then they are doing something wrong. VERY closed-minded if you ask me…

  • Charlene

    oh my god seriously every time Miley Cyrus opens her mouth, i get the urge to hit her a little bit harder.

    Which 17 year old truly knows who they are? Pretentious fool.

  • ke$haluv

    beautiful and classy !!

  • melissa b

    @Charlene: Thats what I’m saying. When she is 30 she will realize she was dillusional

  • Charlene

    @melissa b:

    yeah – but given her obvious lack of intellect it’ll probably be in her late thirties but she fully understands who she is. And around 20 years after that, maybe she’ll actually be able to come to terms with WHAT she is.

  • http://www.mail.com Cassidy

    @kilo:
    What the heck? Shes not not dumb for saying that. Its true. Its not her job to tell people whats right and wrong. She never said that they are doing something wrong by not following her path. Its not close minded at all.

  • http://www.mail.com Cassidy

    @Charlene:
    Maybe she DOES know who she is idiot. You dont know her. Shes older now. I’m sure knows who she is. She probably didnt when she first started Hannah Montana, but shes grown up since then. Shes not that little girl anymore. Shes changed. You guys got to realize that. I think this is actually really mature because she seems to not care about what other people think anymore. Shes more comfortable in her own skin.

  • hagar

    @Charlene:
    she is JUST A KID!!!!!
    it is normal in this age to feel like you are mature and stuff
    don’t blame her for being a teenager
    and stop being immature yourself hating on a 17 years old

  • Maja

    She’s not fat, she’s not ugly. She’s a pretty, young, (kinda) talented girl, but I gotta say fame does her no good… The stuff she’s saying? Gosh, she is so full of herself and trying to make herself sound like she is so mature and so wise and all, but the truth is she has a lot to learn and she pretty much knows nothing. She has to watch out, because she still is a rolemodel for many young girls out there…

  • http://www.mail.com Cassidy

    @Jenny:
    She doesnt sound ungratful to me? How does she sound ungratful?

  • http://www.mail.com Cassidy

    @Maja:
    Shes not full of herself. God. She is mature and wise for someone her age. Yes she does know things.Trust me, Shes not full of herself so get a life!

  • dundies

    um im pretty sure she’ll be dating her next co star too. it has nothing to do with God LOL

  • male

    I AM 17 AND I CAN TELL U NO 17 YEAR OLD KNOWS WHO THEY ARE..
    U CAN ASK ANY 17 YEAR OLD WHAT THERE GOING TO DO FOR LIVING AND THEY EITHER AHVE NO IDEA OR END UP DOING SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT

    I HATE IT WHEN SHE ACTS ALL GROWN UP..THE WORST THING IS THAT WHEN SHE TURNS 18 SHE GONNA SAY YH IM REALLY MATURE NOW AND SO ON UNTIL SHES REALLY OLD!

  • Charlene

    Cassidy + hagar – i’m sure in your vast life-knowledge that you’ve gained in your 13 year old lives, you think that at 17 one knows all about life and ones place in it. However, allow me and anyone else with a brain to tell you that this is bullshit. Getting to know oneself is part of growing-up and turning into an adult. Hell, most people in their twenties are still growing up to some degree. Please show me a 17 year old who is truly a grown up, and i will eat my own goddamn toes.

    As for “hating on a 17 years old” – i am entitled to my opinion about someone, and to expressing it – no matter what their age. So if you tweens don’t like people discussing her in a less than positive light -then you can bite me and go back to your Miley4eva fanboards.

    And hagar – i refuse to be told i’m immature by someone who ends sentences with “and stuff”.

  • http://www.mail.com Cassidy

    @Charlene:
    No. I’m not 13 idiot. No thats not bull. You dont know her. The only person who knows her is herself, her family, and friends. Not you. Stop hating on her. Shes never done anything to you guys.

  • hmmm

    Miley does sound like Katherine Heigl in this article, and I’m almost positive the list of boys she’s dated will just keep getting bigger. And it always seems like its Miley breaking up with them, not the other way around; sad because Nick and Justin seemed like great guys…oh well, its her loss.

  • http://! ivanka

    yaawn, BORING girl ..blah blah

  • Charlene

    @Cassidy:

    Oh, you dear child of supposedly-more-than-13-years. You really love the word “idiot”, don’t you? And my god, if only Miley knew she had such an aggressive defender who scours the internet looking for people “hating” on her. She really needs ANOTHER ego-boost.

    Seriously – not everyone shares your opnion on everything. That doesn’t mean they’re wrong. And you can’t go around calling them idiots because of that. That, if nothing else, is a sign that if you are indeed older than 13 – than it’s not by much.

  • tiffany

    i never was such a big fan of miley but recently now i’m really starting to like her and respect her even though i’m not a fan of all of her decisions or work. i am not christian and i didn’t find her comment offensive, she wasn’t trying to be or saying that anyone was wrong. i used to like hattteee her, idk why, but now i don’t and it really kind of bugs me for some of you guys to find this so offensive when it’s really not.

  • Courtney

    Great article in Parade, she says people should get off twitter and live in the moment not tweet about it, she will grow up very smart.

  • Courtney

    @Ryan: Fat? you’re nutso… Hillbilly is a potato farmer from the midwest..

  • LuckyL

    Her extensions are as filthy as she is. Hey MiHoley, have you let him put in “just the tip” yet?

  • LuckyL

    Thumb up Thumb down +1

    um im pretty sure she’ll be dating her next co star too. it has nothing to do with God LOL
    @

    _____
    LOL exactly. How did she meet her last 4 or 5 boyfriends again?

  • unbelieveable

    Dear Lord you people are pathetic . Your picking on a 17 year old what the hell is wrong with you?? Was stealing bottles and candy from babies not intresting to you anymore so now your picking on her? Geez go get yourselves some help cause you got serious problems

  • LuckyL

    ^^Then tell JJ to put her on JJr. where she belongs and all the mindless kids can say only flowery things ON A SUPERFICIAL CELEBRITY WEBSITE.

  • Trina

    I’m sure Miley is a very nice girl, but she comes across as very naive, talking about her love life that way. She’s really setting herself up to be ridiculed and hounded about her relationship. Better to keep that kind of stuff between her and the boyfriend. No one else needs to know.

  • Lily

    Sigh. This interview kind of put me off. I thought she was a nice girl, but it really looks like she’s just here trying to show off how smart she is by criticizing everyone and “being who i am”.

  • What’s all this?

    I love how she believes she can make compromises on what she will/won’t do as a Christian. It was a bad move on her part to try and display her pseudo-religious side, for everything she does now makes her look like a hypocrite. I really do hope she grows up (mentally) soon.

  • unknown

    if u hate her so much y r u reading an article about her?????????????

  • Brit

    You guys must be some isecure woman if your picking on a 17 year old. You honestly, read it the wrong way. She stated that she would like to help others follow the path she is on. You took the interveiw in the wrong concept. I’m not a fan nor do I hate Miley. It was just what one person said about 17 year olds not knowing who they are. I’m 16 and I think I have an idea of who I am. People find themselves at differnt ages. I may not know everything, but I know my likes and dislikes. Thats all that matters. Remember at this age were still hypocrites. We know ourselves, but were still learning.

  • Brit

    I agree with at @Trina though. She does seem a little naive in the first part. Just give her time though.

  • Stan

    Maturity has nothing to do with age. You can be mature at a young age if your circumstances dictate it. You can also be immature at 30 40 50 or older. Some people never mature. Maturity is about how you act and express yourself. It’s about how you handle life and all its pressures as a whole and in the moment. It’s also about how you interact with and towards others.

    Mature people don’t go on web sites and bash on a 17 yr old teenage girl, just because she expresses her opinions in a manner to which you may not agree with. They look at the person, their age, their situation in life and form a valid understanding of why she may feel or act the way she does or say the things she say. Then and only then should they express an opinion in a clear, non bashing, constructive way, which shows how things should be said or changed without destroying the dreams or hopes of the person you are discussing.

  • Jasmine

    someone seriously shut her the fcuk up. i can’t believe she actually has the audacity to say something like that. seriously, so if you’re not christian you’re wrong? as if she’s doing good things, right? fcuk her, I’m so offended by how unaware she is of what she says and how truly stupid she is. I’m not even gonna delve into how retarded her statement is. she needs to keep her hillbilly mouth shut.

  • faith87

    Just because there is a hot guy in front of your face doesn’t necessarily mean God is telling you that he’s an amazing guy for you.

  • Maja

    @Stan:
    Mature people don’t comment back on a Miley Cyrus’ article to say that mature people do not bash on 17 year olds, lol…
    People, you’re being ridiculous. If someone is mature and found themselves, they should not BRAG about it in an interview, because that’s what this girl did – she simply bragged, trying to make herself sound so intelligent.

    Well, I can tell you that maturity HAS something to do with age after all. Not in every case, but it’s so obvious that in this one it does. She said that her new boyfriend was a sing from God, like come on…

    I am 19, still haven’t figured out a lot of things and I am giving myself time. I’ve been through some stuff and matured, but even if I’ve found myself or whatever I am not going to mention it to everyone, just because it feels cool to do so…

  • hagar

    @Charlene:
    OK I’m 17 myself and i know what i’m gonna do with my life
    i’m in art school theater department and i’m a writer ang i know where i’m going maybe more than any 30 year old would coz i have a plan for my life and i’m going for it.
    so please don’t say that 17 year old are’nt mature.

  • Charlene

    @hagar:

    If you’re going to insist on continuing with this, then at least get a grasp of what we’re talking about. I never said 17 year olds aren’t mature – i’ve known many 17 year olds who are far more mature than people ten years older than them. However there’s a difference between being mature and fully knowing who you are as a person. Believe it or not – no one is a fully-formed human being at 17. Those very very few people who are, must be the most boring people on the planet because they never grow or change or adapt as life goes on – they just stand still. It’s only through the years and experiences in those years that people form their characters and personalities – and trust me – 17 years is not enough for all that to happen.

    Good luck with your plans, but i’m guessing you don’t know much about life if you think you’re going to follow those plans exactly as you see them now. Everyone makes plans at that age that they’re SO sure that they’re going to follow. But guess what – life gets in the way and our ideals change, and we get thrown little surprises along the way that we learn from.

    I find it terrifying that your parents havent taught you all this.

    @Charlene:
    It’s already my jop so yeah i’m doing all that right now and i know that life won’t continue the way i planed and i don’t want it to coz my life would be so boring with nothing new in it.
    and thanks for you concern for me.

  • Marie

    You’re seventeen years old. You have no idea who you are yet. I think she’s very uppity about herself these days, like she’s been through everything and anything there is to go through. Ugh, naive.

  • Lena

    I’m really tired of seeing her animated extremely photoshopped face everywhere. I wish she would go natural, so the world can know what an ugly flatted-in-face rabbit tooth whore she is. And EVERYTIME she sings live, she sucks, which proves she can’t sing. Her voice is hoarse and manly. The only “acting” she does is cheesy disney comedy that doesn’t require skills. GET THIS TALENTLESS HOE OUT OF HERE! Doesn’t she have moree naked pictures to take?

    Oh, and this is a picture of me:
    http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/5209/001fv9.jpg

    So i will like to know who dares to tell me that i’m “jealous of miley”; yeah, don’t think so.
