Chris Evans: Your Next Captain America?

Chris Evans has reportedly been offered the role of Captain America!

The 28-year-old actor, who played a superhero in the Fantastic Four series, would star in up to three Captain America movies plus The Avengers films and other Marvel projects.

Chris is lined up to shoot What’s Your Number? with Anna Faris, THR notes, which is a possible conflict – Captain America will shoot in England this summer.

Chris was not listed in the initial round of actors up for consideration and reportedly did not screen test, having worked with Marvel in the past.

DO YOU THINK Chris would be a good Captain America – YAY or NAY?

he was the human torch in fantastic four. well so be it. i mean he’s good looking and he does appear to be an all-american guy.

LAME !!!!! He can’t act ! They should have cast Ryan Phillippe or Channing tatum !

    Dawn9476 Says:

Deadline reported that he was in the running at first about four weeks ago but then a couple of weeks later, they reported that he was no longer in contention though that didn’t stop stupid gossip sites like Perez running with him being cast in the role.

    Hell No Says:

@ jjgu: Channing Tatum is the perfect Captain America as he has the look more than Chris Evans and I like his acting.

He will also bring in the box office pull.

By the way, Channing Tatum will be 30 yrs old in April 2010 so not past his prime WTF.

I’m not taking this serious until Marvel offically confirms it as it will be changed by tomorrow.

    Poirot Says:

Chris Evans is an excellent choice. His younger brother Scott should get a role in the movie too.

    Halli Says:

Yes. As long as that guy from The Office doesn’t get the part

    Halli Says:

    @Hell No:

Channing Tatum can’t act for crap.

    Chris Fan Says:

NAY! Very little potential for him to go shirtless if he took that role.

    Dreads Says:

This guy is drop dead GORGEOUS. Sooooo good-looking. He would be good….they would attract many girls anyway! =)

    cari Says:

Not a good choice. Too goofy looking.

Chris Pine would be genius though. I hope Marvel gets a a greta director and writers and doesn’t eff this up. Iron Man is about the only good comic movie they’ve done. The rest sucked.

RE: Superman. Christopher Nolan has been handed the keys. Along with Jonathan Nolan and David Goyer this will be something to really look forward too. I hope they look at Tom Welling though before closing that door. Smallville producers can’t be too happy, kinda crushes their movie plans.

    Ruby Says:

eh…………i was sort of hoping John Krasinski would get it! he a good actor and i would love to see him beef up muscle wise for the film..i dnt think one actor should be 2 different super heroes.

    Amy Says:

I know they plan to reboot Fantastic Four, but this seems like a poor choice for all the confusion is would cause anyway.

    ivanka Says:

    GREAT CHOICE:) hot too

    Louie Louie Says:

The guy already played a Marvel character. And he’s not a manly man, he’s a total pretty boy. WTF!! Steve Rogers isn’t an abercrombie pinup. They should have cast someone that nobody knows, like they did with Chris Pine in the new Star Trek. This movie is going to suck if he accepts this, if it’s even true.

  22. 22
    Christine Says:

Awesome choice!!! Can’t wait to see Chris in this!

  23. 23
    sheila Says:

His career is going forward, unlike his ex girlfriend (prostitute Jessica Biel)!

  24. 24
    sotos Says:

Hey Yes he is a great choice!!! Cant wait to see him as Captain!

  25. 25
    dude Says:

Marvel needs to be more creative and imaginative, this guy is cool but he’s not an unknown and has already played as the Human Torch. They need somebody with a fresh face and who has’nt played a comic book hero already.
