OlderJude Law Honored at Empire Awards
Jude Law suits up for the Jameson Empire Film Awards 2010 held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Sunday (March 28) in London, England.
His detective flick, Sherlock Holmes, which also co-starred Robert Downey Jr., picked up the award for Best Thriller.
Jude also won the Empire Hero award. During his acceptance speech, he shared. “Thank you very much. I don’t feel much like a hero; here’s to all the real heros out there. But I suppose thanks to Jameson and Empire I can be a hero for one day, like David Bowie. This makes me think of all the great people I’ve worked with, all the actors and directors and editors and composers, and they all contributed to what we just saw – especially my late, great friend Anthony Minghella. Thank you very much.”
Harry Potter star Rupert Grint, pictured below with actress pal Chloe Moretz, was also on hand to present the award for Best SciFi/Fantasy Film to Star Trek.

jude’s won the critics choice award for hamlet, the what’s on stage award (theatre goers) award and now the empire award……keep ‘em coming jude. well deserved and oh yes you are certainly not too hard on the eyes.
Congrats to Jude! He makes Watson badass and sooo hot. It’s the first time I’d ever fantasize about Watson. I want to see more Hotson in the sequel please.
So nice of him to remember Anthony Minghella. Jude’s a ‘hero’ for just one day a la David Bowie, but he’s a lovely soul for all time.

I usually don’t like red-heads but I find Rupert Grint somehow oddly …..sexy.
Ginger Grint is oddly compelling. He just needs to tighten it up with the wardrobe and stop looking sloppy.
I’m really looking forward to seeing Jude in SHERLOCK HOLMES soon. Just viewed the SLEUTH, and what a film that was. Only 2 ACTORS in this entire film. WOW!! Jude seems to take on challenges in the film industry with his roles, very creative and interesting.
Of course, JUDE is looking dapper and those eyes are like the hue of the most gorgeous oceans around.

what a lovely comment…i agree with everything yoiu said. michael caine and jude are spectacular in sleuth…it’s like two actors giving a master class in acting..a good way to describe jude’s eyes like the oceans…i’ve seen him close up and those eyes are not to be believed.

I’m going to sound like a prude but I am I the only one who thinks that Chloe’s dress is a bit too revealing for her age, a 25 year old would wear that! At least she’s not wearing 5 inch heels with it, that would be wrong!

I thought Gwyneth Paltrow could not have said it any better! I agree with everything she said, as well as with shamrock and dolores … I loved “Sleuth” and Jude was so fantastic in it! That movie shows his true talent, like acting on the stage does. When I saw him in Hamlet last year I was amazed at how incredible an actor he is. Some of his movie roles have not given him the chance to show his true brilliance!! I also love about him that he is so passionate about his work, as Fiona said. Congrats to Jude for his recent awards! He deserves them all, because his acting talent is so often overshadowed by all the bad press he gets! All the best to Jude, always! And I look forward to seeing him in all his upcoming projects!

A hero for one day? LOL. Jude is so funny.
Guh, Rupert Grint is so f.u.c.k.i.n.g SEXAY! What I love about him is his laidback style, his mellow attitude, and of course, his ginger hair. I normally love his casual wear to award shows and premieres, but lately he’s been wearing lots of suits-with dress pants and jeans, and I love it.
I hope they bring Cherrybomb and Wild Target to the US so they can start showing his stuff on TV instead of Robot Pattinson.
