OlderMatt Damon: American Cinematheque Award!
Matt Damon gets the support of his wife Lucy at American Cinematheque’s 24th Annual Award Presentation to Matt Damon at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday (March 27).
The ceremony was attended by his longtime pals and colleagues including Ben Affleck (with wife Jennifer Garner), Charlize Theron, Greg Kinnear, Casey Affleck, Robin Williams, Don Cheadle, Clint Eastwood, Jimmy Kimmel, and Sarah Silverman.
Kimmel joked during his opening monologue, “They must be running out of stars for awards. Who will we honor next year? Vanessa Hudgens?”
When accepted his award, Matt shared, “I can honestly say that there’s a good chance that next year Ben [Affleck] will be here, presenting this award to someone else. There’s a lot of buzz about Vanessa Hudgens.”
A taped version of the event, “Hollywood Salutes Matt Damon: An American Cinematheque Tribute,” will air next month on ABC.
FYI: Matt wore a black Ferragamo 3-piece tuxedo and black tramezza shoes.

lol thats was kinda mean to say about vanessa….
Jimmy Kimmel was joking (as usual), but what Matt Damon said was sweet. There IS a lot of buzz about Vanessa–she just got ShoWest’s “Female Star of Tomorrow, and there’s lots of buzz about “Beastly” and “Sucker Punch.”
^ yeaa. lol. it kinda wa. but it was also an insult to damon, cause kimmel sayin he doesn’t deserve it. lol. but he was just jokin, and i think nessa might get the award next yr :)

I love Matt so much! Thank you, Jared! I have a lot of respect for him as an actor and as a person. He is truly a good guy and has a great sense of humour. And to me, he is hunkilicious just the way he is and it’s not all about his looks, it’s the whole package.
His wife is really cute. They make a good couple.
It wasnt meant as a diss at all. Matt teases Ben and says he will be around next year to “present” the award to another person – implying Ben will never been “good” enough to get the award himself.
Ergo he heard there is “a lot of buzz about Vanessa Hudgens” so maybe Ben will give it to her next year.
t’s a joke but it was not a diss. And I wonder if they were talking about her before this all started since just picking her out of the air is not only unlikely but ridiculous.
Having just won a Showest Award and Beastly being talked about so much – pulling her name most likely was not random.

HAHAHA on you. when you become part of a joke like Kimmel (assuming you read the real one and not Jared’s rewrite to cause controversy) it’s because you are relelvant and because theere is “buzz” about you in Hollywood.
Kimmel was also making fun of DAmon = why because Damon is relelvant in Hollywood . So the jokes on you cause all it proves is that Vanessa is being noticed in Hollywood.

HAHAHA maybe you should learn to read–The quote JJ used from EW is already being called a falsehood by people who were there supposedly. THe actual reference had to do with Damon and Hudgens being young. But this is JJ where a statement that causes controversy whether true or not is printed.
Finally you obviously know nothing about anything. Vanessa just won Showest and Bestly was the biggest thing hit there.
But since you know nothing I’ll educate you – it was a roast of Damon and you are only used as a joke at a roast if you’re relelvant.
And the fact your grandmother was known for selling herself on a street corner shouldn’t make you so bitter.

Hahahaha – that made me laugh so hard! I always get the feeling there is something so off about them He knocked her up and then married her probably in defense of his career. I don’t believe it’s true love, I think she’s a beard.
