Babies born in 2009 or 2010 may have Twilight to thank for their names!
According to a report by the Social Security Administration, “Isabella” is the top name for baby girls and “Jacob” is the most popular for boys.
“Cullen” also jumped up 297 spots and was the name with the biggest jump, while “Edward” moved up 11 spots.
FYI: “Miley” and “Jonas” were both popular last year but have since dropped on the charts.

isabella is pretty but i dont think it has anything to do with the movie or at least i woul like to think people arent that dum to so easily influenced, i have always liked isabella, and bella for short
This is the most stupid thing I’ve ever heard. Twilight moms need to get a life, start acting like the adults they are and stop embarassing their kids. They’re putting the idea that Twilight is LITERATURE in their kids heads. They’re giving them the wrong message.
Now those kids who’s names are Cullen, Jacob, and Isabella are going to go through life with the nicknames Wolfboy, Depressive B.i.t.c.h and Sparkly Vampire! God, I can’t wait until this wasteful fad is over with and DONE!
Twilight is a fad, Harry Potter is a lifestyle.

Yeah okay that’s weird. But even before Twilight, the names Jacob and Isabella were popular names. I’ve always loved the name Isabella since I was little. I used to like Jacob when I was little. I have a little cousin who is 6 almost 7 and his name is Jacob.
Also I have a baby cousin called Miley, she was born in January. I didn’t like the idea of her being called Miley. Her mum didn’t know much about Miley she just heard of her and liked the name.
Edward has always been popular too.
I can see it now: In ten or so years “Mom why did you name me Isabella?”
“Because mommy was obsessed with a silly teeny booper book, and Isabella was the main characters name, and mommy wanted to be Isabella so bad because she was in love with this hunky vampire but then was also in love with a werewolf, but blah blah blah.”

Actually, “Jacob” has been the top name for boys for the last 11 years. So I’m confident, it was not inspired by Twilight.
That being said, I’m totally Team Jacob.
Cullen is super lame, but Isabella and Jacob have actually been popular for years. My friend’s sister’s children are named Isabella & Jacob…born before the Twilight book came out. Everyone thinks her kids are named after Twilight. That sucks!

There’s even better … mom, why did you name me Bella? Oh well, you see that’s this super duper girl who had this great stalker bf, had great rough sex, was preggers for just a few months, delivered a kid by her hubby tearing her uterus open with his teeth, whose baby grew up in 6 years and didn’t really need any care at all!
So I hoped for all that for me … and named you Bella. Didn’t work out all that well, had to carry you for 9 months, the stalker ended up in jail so didn’t help, you required so much care, took you whole of a year to even start talking and 18 effing years to get rid of you too! Meh. Maybe it’ll work out better for you with your stalker.
Isabella (Bella for short) is cute but not Jacob. What a horrible name!
