Clay Aiken: 'Tried and True' Album Details!

Clay Aiken is gearing up for the release of his fifth studio album, Tried and True!

The 31-year-old American Idol runner-up will be singing classic hits on his forthcoming album, including “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” “Suspicious Minds” and “Misty”.

Tried and True will also include two favorites Clay performed on Idol – “Unchained Melody” and “Mack the Knife”!

“There are a lot of elements to this album that are about me returning to what I’m comfortable with,” Clay said (via ET). “To me, older songs are more melodically appealing and beautiful. So doing this album was an opportunity to just be myself.”

FYI: Clay and Ruben Studdard will tour together beginning in July! Check out dates and venues here.

Wow, took you all of thirty minutes to express your “opinion”. Why bother?

This sounds like the perfect fit for Aiken’s strong vocals and ability to meld with that type of music. Good for him. He’s sure managed to stay in a tough business far beyond fifteen minutes. Shocking but kinda cool.

Looking forward to the CD. Those who enjoyed Clay on AI will enjoy this CD. Those who didn’t don’t have to listen or buy it so why bother with such negative comments? The amount of hate on the internet is unreal.

Looking forward to Clay’s new CD Tried and True, his summer tour AND his PBS special which will air in August. Clay sings the classics with real power and understands how a song should be sung.

I see the lunatics are out in full force today :) Can’t wait to hear this CD, sounds like Clay’s going back to what suits him best. He has the talent to pull off this type of CD. It’s nice when there’s a singer who relies on his voice rather than props (like birds and what not). There’s certainly room for all musical tastes in this world.
