Miranda Kerr's Book: TREASURE YOURSELF!

Miranda Kerr has a new book coming out later this year called “TREASURE YOURSELF.”

The 27-year-old Aussie supermodel (and Victoria’s Secret beauty) tells the June issue of Elle, “It’s about encouraging young women to embrace their individuality. You may think it’s easy for me to say, but we all have insecurities. It’s important, as women, to get past all of that and let our talents shine.”

easy for a 5’10″ super model to say… embrace who you are. Why do they keep using models to tell girls to feel good about themselves no matter how they look?

Jared it was not a “cover shot”, because she is not on the cover, Stweart is.

Kerr is stunning, but what a load of BS she just tried to sell us there, yeah right Miranda, we need a woman like you to tell us to embrace ourselves, get real honey!

I love miranda. She is gorgeous. And I can’t wait for this book. She is one of the people that I look up to, so I’m sure I can learn from it.

I’m disgusted how easily a celebrity can get a book deal. http://bit.ly/dyNdwn

Does treasuring yourself include starving yourself and smoking? Because Kerr has done both.

OMG – she’s telling women to treasure themselves…meanwhile she’s making her living on how she looks? SERIOUSLY????????

Thumb up Thumb down +1

@sukar: She also exercises to stay healthy.

Thumb up Thumb down -6

Does she know writing? I think her book will have only pictures, very easy to be read by top models.

Thumb up Thumb down +3

I understand some of you are upset, with a beautiful model telling you to accept yourself, but a lot of young girls really look up to models and maybe just maybe, they will listen to her as far as eating healthy and living a clean lifestyle. Give it a chance, maybe she has some good advice.

I have seen one or maybe two pictures of Miranda smoking and those are very old photos. Many of us have done things we no longer do.

@omg:

Look I’m not hating, but this chick is not healthy. I would definitely listen to someone like Cindy Crawford, because she always seemed like a healthy, grounded and naturally beautiful woman. Miranda is underweight (not thin), smokes and I’d be surprised if she eats healthy at all.

@dragonfly: All they are saying is even a SUPERMODEL has insecurities. It’s such a human thing, we all do, so never let it control you :) Love yourself despite your ‘flaws’ and any insecurities you may have. Embrace yourself, exercise, drink lots of water, sleep properly, eat healthy, be confident, strut…..xo

I find it sickening that she would actually believe that young girls who live an average life (remember not all of us are supermodels) would even be able to reach heights that she has. If she really cared why not provide free seminars on feeling and looking good as part of her David Jones promotions. There are young girls who have much much more to deal with in life than what the latest HF trend is. What is the world coming to?

@sukar:

“Miranda recently revealed she feels a responsibility as a model to promote healthy eating, particularly to the younger and more impressionable members of society.

Amazing as it might sound, Miranda Kerr does not DIET and doesn’t believe in fad diets either. Instead, she makes sure she eats foods that keep her energy levels up. “The first step is eating HEALTHY. I predominantly eat organic when I can. I eat extremely healthy because when I do, I have more energy, [like] spinach, avocado, lots of greens and broccoli. I’m pretty much 80 percent healthy, 20 percent indulgent, because I don’t believe in depriving yourself,” she says.

Because she doesn’t want to deprive herself, she occasionally indulges in her favorite guilty food, which is French fries, even though she knows she has to put in a few extra minutes at the gym for it. “As for her workout routine, she does Yoga, Pilates and low-esistance weight training. ‘I also like to go on the stepping machine if I’m at a hotel and I can’t get outside.

Body image is something that the majority of young women struggle with and I do think it is important that models are seen to be healthy and at a weight that works for their body type.”

@It is getting ridiculous: Sickening? Drama queen much. The reality is young girls ARE heavily influenced by what they see in the media; by singers, models, celebrities. Miranda is a much better role model than Lilo and co. don’t you think?

Thumb up Thumb down 0

She has been talking about this for YEARS. Every month shes asked about and she’ll say oh in a few months or oh at the end of the year but it never happens…….
And LOL Miranda no offence cos I do like you but you are perfect and you know it because you are paid millions for it. Its easy for you to tell people to love themselves because there is nothing wrong with you at all……
I wonder if she even wrote this herself anyway…

Thumb up Thumb down -1

@III:

Yes, but how is it meant to make us “normal folks” feel if a SUPERMODEL is saying she has insecurities? When I look at Miranda, I think she is pretty much perfect. But then she says she has insecurities.. so how is that meant to make normal people feel? If even someone we look at as perfect has insecurities? Makes normal girls feel even worse…….

Thumb up Thumb down +1

know what’s funny? for all the prejudice ugly / fat / other outsiders get, beautiful and hot people get judged just as much FOR being beautiful and hot

Thumb up Thumb down +1

@ *** why does it make you feel worse? realizing someone you perceive as fierce or perfect or wtv, actually has normal insecurities just like you do, shouldn’t make you feel worse ?

Thumb up Thumb down +1

One minute people are calling the girl “ugly, plain, overrated, weird-looking”, the next, you’re accusing her of being too PERFECT lmao. Which is it?

Do your thing girlie.

Totally agree, more people need to embrace their individuality. Girls and women in particular are SO hard on themselves, partly because it’s in our nature, partly because it’s a man’s world and we feel pressure to be, act, or look a certain way. Whilst men (as much as I love them) get away with so, so much. Just do YOU. Focus on the more important things in life, put your energy and time into your talent/s and passions. Always aim for higher and push for your dreams, you’ll be surprised.

@D:

Sounds great. But how do know she is telling the truth? A photo speaks a thousand words right? Compare her body to Heidi Klum for example. Who looks more healthy? Heidi of course. And while I agree that some people are naturally thin, I don’t believe that you can be naturally underweight. I personally am thin, but the only time I was underweight was when I had a digestive problem. So whatever is making her underweight like that is NOT healthy.

Also, I am one of the people who actually don’t find her that beautiful, although I repsect that a lot of people love her looks. So it is not that I am intimidated that a beautiful girl is telling me to love myself. Not at all. I just honestly don’t think she is healthy.

She’s been referring to this book for years. Frankly, I think she is using it as a prop; it makes her sound good, but I doubt that there is much of substance. Is it every actually going to be published? By who, exactly? I would rather my daughter got tips from positive role models, who have something of substance to offer. I sincerely doubt that this book (if it ever sees the light of day) will offer anything other than the usual platitudes. I guess it will line her pockets though.
