Miranda Kerr's Book: TREASURE YOURSELF!

Miranda Kerr has a new book coming out later this year called “TREASURE YOURSELF.”

The 27-year-old Aussie supermodel (and Victoria’s Secret beauty) tells the June issue of Elle, “It’s about encouraging young women to embrace their individuality. You may think it’s easy for me to say, but we all have insecurities. It’s important, as women, to get past all of that and let our talents shine.”

easy for a 5’10″ super model to say… embrace who you are. Why do they keep using models to tell girls to feel good about themselves no matter how they look?

  • Nic

Jared it was not a “cover shot”, because she is not on the cover, Stweart is.

Kerr is stunning, but what a load of BS she just tried to sell us there, yeah right Miranda, we need a woman like you to tell us to embrace ourselves, get real honey!

  • HF Gal

I heard this book ‘Treasure Yourself” coming out since 2007…..

    It’s now 2010…..

  • Halli

This is exactly how I look like when I wake up in the morning.

  • marilyn

I love miranda. She is gorgeous. And I can’t wait for this book. She is one of the people that I look up to, so I’m sure I can learn from it.

  • OUCH

I’m disgusted how easily a celebrity can get a book deal.

  • Ella

haha, you took the words right out of my mouth! miranda kerr is physically perfect.

  • sukar

Does treasuring yourself include starving yourself and smoking? Because Kerr has done both.

  • TV Watcher

OMG – she’s telling women to treasure themselves…meanwhile she’s making her living on how she looks? SERIOUSLY????????

  • ohpls

@sukar: She also exercises to stay healthy.

  • Gui

Does she know writing? I think her book will have only pictures, very easy to be read by top models.

  • omg

I understand some of you are upset, with a beautiful model telling you to accept yourself, but a lot of young girls really look up to models and maybe just maybe, they will listen to her as far as eating healthy and living a clean lifestyle. Give it a chance, maybe she has some good advice.

  • @sukar

I have seen one or maybe two pictures of Miranda smoking and those are very old photos. Many of us have done things we no longer do.

  • sukar

Look I’m not hating, but this chick is not healthy. I would definitely listen to someone like Cindy Crawford, because she always seemed like a healthy, grounded and naturally beautiful woman. Miranda is underweight (not thin), smokes and I’d be surprised if she eats healthy at all.

  • III

@dragonfly: All they are saying is even a SUPERMODEL has insecurities. It’s such a human thing, we all do, so never let it control you :) Love yourself despite your ‘flaws’ and any insecurities you may have. Embrace yourself, exercise, drink lots of water, sleep properly, eat healthy, be confident, strut…..xo

  • It is getting ridiculous

I find it sickening that she would actually believe that young girls who live an average life (remember not all of us are supermodels) would even be able to reach heights that she has. If she really cared why not provide free seminars on feeling and looking good as part of her David Jones promotions. There are young girls who have much much more to deal with in life than what the latest HF trend is. What is the world coming to?

  • http://www. D

“Miranda recently revealed she feels a responsibility as a model to promote healthy eating, particularly to the younger and more impressionable members of society.

Amazing as it might sound, Miranda Kerr does not DIET and doesn’t believe in fad diets either. Instead, she makes sure she eats foods that keep her energy levels up. “The first step is eating HEALTHY. I predominantly eat organic when I can. I eat extremely healthy because when I do, I have more energy, [like] spinach, avocado, lots of greens and broccoli. I’m pretty much 80 percent healthy, 20 percent indulgent, because I don’t believe in depriving yourself,” she says.

Because she doesn’t want to deprive herself, she occasionally indulges in her favorite guilty food, which is French fries, even though she knows she has to put in a few extra minutes at the gym for it. “As for her workout routine, she does Yoga, Pilates and low-esistance weight training. ‘I also like to go on the stepping machine if I’m at a hotel and I can’t get outside.

Body image is something that the majority of young women struggle with and I do think it is important that models are seen to be healthy and at a weight that works for their body type.”

  • Faye

@It is getting ridiculous: Sickening? Drama queen much. The reality is young girls ARE heavily influenced by what they see in the media; by singers, models, celebrities. Miranda is a much better role model than Lilo and co. don’t you think?

  • xxx

She has been talking about this for YEARS. Every month shes asked about and she’ll say oh in a few months or oh at the end of the year but it never happens…….
And LOL Miranda no offence cos I do like you but you are perfect and you know it because you are paid millions for it. Its easy for you to tell people to love themselves because there is nothing wrong with you at all……
I wonder if she even wrote this herself anyway…

  • xxx

Yes, but how is it meant to make us “normal folks” feel if a SUPERMODEL is saying she has insecurities? When I look at Miranda, I think she is pretty much perfect. But then she says she has insecurities.. so how is that meant to make normal people feel? If even someone we look at as perfect has insecurities? Makes normal girls feel even worse…….

  • Ben

know what’s funny? for all the prejudice ugly / fat / other outsiders get, beautiful and hot people get judged just as much FOR being beautiful and hot

  • HUH

@ xxx why does it make you feel worse? realizing someone you perceive as fierce or perfect or wtv, actually has normal insecurities just like you do, shouldn’t make you feel worse ?

  • Amelle

One minute people are calling the girl “ugly, plain, overrated, weird-looking”, the next, you’re accusing her of being too PERFECT lmao. Which is it?

    Do your thing girlie.

Totally agree, more people need to embrace their individuality. Girls and women in particular are SO hard on themselves, partly because it’s in our nature, partly because it’s a man’s world and we feel pressure to be, act, or look a certain way. Whilst men (as much as I love them) get away with so, so much. Just do YOU. Focus on the more important things in life, put your energy and time into your talent/s and passions. Always aim for higher and push for your dreams, you’ll be surprised.

  • sukar

Sounds great. But how do know she is telling the truth? A photo speaks a thousand words right? Compare her body to Heidi Klum for example. Who looks more healthy? Heidi of course. And while I agree that some people are naturally thin, I don’t believe that you can be naturally underweight. I personally am thin, but the only time I was underweight was when I had a digestive problem. So whatever is making her underweight like that is NOT healthy.

Also, I am one of the people who actually don’t find her that beautiful, although I repsect that a lot of people love her looks. So it is not that I am intimidated that a beautiful girl is telling me to love myself. Not at all. I just honestly don’t think she is healthy.

  • believe it when I see it

She’s been referring to this book for years. Frankly, I think she is using it as a prop; it makes her sound good, but I doubt that there is much of substance. Is it every actually going to be published? By who, exactly? I would rather my daughter got tips from positive role models, who have something of substance to offer. I sincerely doubt that this book (if it ever sees the light of day) will offer anything other than the usual platitudes. I guess it will line her pockets though.

  • xxx

Its like somebody that good looking has things they don’t like imagine how ugly normal people must be… thats what I mean.. and by normal people I mean people that don’t get paid to look good.

  • SIA

Why do people complain about everything so much lol. If you like the idea of her book, buy it. If not, don’t. It’s just another part of her job, and she really is a sweetheart, very young at heart, and really does hold and carry herself well for all those younger girls who look up to her and adore her. She has that “unique mix of high-fashion élan and girl-next-door approachability”. Remember to HAVE a healthy diet, rather than going ON a diet. Life is precious.

  • @sukar

How do you know Miranda smokes?

  • monday

I am one of the people who actually don’t find her that beautiful, although I repsect that a lot of people love her looks. So it is not that I am intimidated that a beautiful girl is telling me to love myself. Not at all. I just honestly don’t think she is healthy.

  • The Book

What a joke, a supermodel who has the world at her feet telling young girls to treasure themselves! The real world has a lot more than photoshoots, make up and an adoring fan base to deal with Miranda Kerr!!! GET REAL!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to hear from a real women who has a real life telling me how to overcome issues, not some DIVA. She has had so many people helping her get through everyday. Come into the average young women’s world experience REAL life then tell us what you think

P.S: before you say it Miranda Lovers i do not LOVE orlando bloom, i dont even know him

  • OMG

look at her life. she has people all around her telling her that she is beautiful. she has a loving family and a loving boyfriend. geezzz not that hard to treasure yourself hey miranda. what a life. WE ARE NOT ALL THAT LUCKY YOU IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sukar

    @The Book:

I totally agree, you should read the stories of the women in “Chicken’s soup for a woman’s soul,” or the story of a female refugee who escaped hardships and survived or the story of Jackie Saburido the young girl who was burned beyond recognition and survived and now gives talks telling people to love themselves and never lose hope. Saburido made me cry when I listened to her. Miranda makes me laugh, because in my opinion, she doesn’t yet have enough substance to write such a book.

  • @32

Remarkable women who have truely suffered hardship and come through it all to help increase awareness and save other people.
Why can’t we celebrate their lives more? In my eyes they are the ones who should be ‘celebrities’ i.e we should be celebrating their lives, not some image obsessed woman whose life evolves around high end fashion, make up and money. All the things that a large percentage of the world will never experience.

  • sukar

    Exactly :)

  • Her picture

Her picture really does say it all doesn’t it? She has everything she could ever need. Prancing around a set all day in beautiful clothes getting her picture taken. What a blessed life. Has she been to the slums of India? I agree with the lasts few comments. The media has created this need for us all to look up to these swallow people. Think about it………. there are so many amazing people out there actually positively contributing to the development of the world. I would love to her about them some more.

  • Meghan

    she is hot

  • Normal for her

Seems to me she’s always been thin. I don’t think she follows an extreme type of diet to achieve that look – some girls just ARE naturally thin – with small frames. IMO she looks healthy. If she were anorexic, it would show up in her skin and eyes among other things. I’ve SEEN truly anorexic women and believe me, they don’t look like Miranda Kerr!. She exercises and eats healthy foods. She looks fine to me, slim but not scrawny.

  • sukar

    @Normal for her:

As I said before, some women are naturally thin, but no one one is naturally underweight. Miranda has been a model since she was 14, which means that it is very possible she was always following some sort of diet.

  • g’day

Miranda has millions of dollars, she’s famous, she has a loving family, grew up in australia, admitted to being popular at school, she’s dating orlando bloom, she is good looking………… her life is perfect. She has no right to ever ever ever complain IMO. It’s easy for her to “treasure yourself.”

Anyone interesting in a truly inspiring woman should read “the road to lost innocence.”

  • LOL!

So a young woman who has made it to the top of her very high pressure career, WITHOUT falling into the traps that hurt so many young people should NOT be admired?
A young woman who gives her time and money to charity?
Who encourages young women to be healthy?
I never thought that someone encouraging others to embrace their individuality, remain true to themselves, and feed their souls as well as their bodies would be reason to shovel more insults and hatred upon her.
    Just, wow.
Miranda IS healthy. You can tell just by looking at her. You don’t get skin, eyes and hair like hers if you don’t have good nutrition. She is very slim, yes, but just because she isn’t as big as some other models, doesn’t mean that she is underweight. She has an extremely small frame. Compare the width of her shoulders, and the size of her wrists, feet and hands to other models her same height. She is tiny, but healthy. You can’t see her sternum, which means that she still has her female layer of fat under her skin.
A lot of young women have, and will always, try to look like models. Many go on fad diets, and unhealthy binges to try to look like the girls in the magazines. Isn’t it better to have a young model telling these girls that they can achieve what they desire by eating nutritious foods and exercising as part of a healthy lifestyle? Or would you rather that they try to emulate kate Moss and her diet of ciggs, booze and drugs?
Do you really want to insult a young woman who is trying to make a healthy change in the lives of teenaged girls?
You must be true haters if that is what you doing.
    Shame on you.

  • @LOL yeah you number 40

Your writing style seems familiar. So aggressive and all encompassing in Miranda’s worship……..I was waiting for you to arrive.

I don’t think those other people posting on the thread know the extent of your love for Miranda. You know that you sound weird right? No one mentioned bad role models only good ones. You are beginning to loose site of what what really matters.

    Get a life MIRANDA LOVER.

  • @41

Get a life? Look who’s talking. Oh, you are so against “Miranda worship”, but are all apposed to the hatred from her dating Orlando? And I mean hatred as in Stalking, death wishes, insulting, name calling. Is that fine by you? I’m sure a fan (Or as you call it MIRANDA LOVER) is much worse, just supporting there girl, defending her from such extreme ill behavior (yes, I’m looking at you, delphites), yeah, I can see which out of the two need to get a life. O_o

  • La Granouille

Oh, lookie, lookie. LOL is here again… Yapping away his/her love to Kerr.

Anyway, a girl aged 27 and being a supermodel at that doesn’t get to preach about how girls should ‘treasure themselves’. Most girls (I admit) look up to models and wish they would look like those models, but the ugly truth in this matter is that only a few of those girls will ever even remotely look like these starving supermodels, who end up “writing” books about ‘treasuring yourself’. Most girls are teased and even tormented about their looks and they are not popular at school, like Ms. Kerr has stated that she was. They resort to starving themselves and worst case scenario, to suicide. Ms. Kerr, as far as she has let the world know, hasn’t suffered this in her life.

And even further, those girls, when they grow up probably won’t be making the Big Bucks at job, but end up gettin laid off from their work. She made $4 million last year. How much those girls she is telling to ‘treasure themselves’ made? Probably not even a fraction of what she may or may not earn in a month!

It’s easy to ‘treasure yourself’ when you look like a supermodel, you have money, a ‘job’, family etc. Most of the girls looking up to models… They just don’t have all that. And the other half, that are reading that book and so forth… they should pull their heads up from the crap that is HF, and see that leggins aren’t panties and they should cover their butts.

  • ta

She has to learn to talk properly first before writing any book, please! She can’t talk, I don’t think she’s too eloquent and she doesn’t give any proves that she is.
She’s been reading about nutrition in the internet (I don’t believe she’s got degree in that) and now hse gives words of wisdom that everybody knows already.
Also ,what kind of patterrn she is. She loves to get naked, lots of people have bad things of her to say, she seems rather full of herself than ‘embracing (hope she soon discovers a new word instead of that) herself’.

  • Are you possessed?

    42 seriously, are you?

  • LOL!

Yeah! It’s so weird that a FAN follows someone, isn’t it?
Aren’t these threads reserved for haters who live their lives only to hate a woman that they have never met?
Shame on me for ruining your fun.
And I guess that you ignored the posts that said that she shouldn’t be writing a book about sekf image. How convenient for you.
Oh, and what exactly “really matters”??
Stalking a woman so that you can call her names? Is that your life’s work. Is that what really matters to you?
    Must be.
Oh, and BTW, it’s SIGHT, not “site”

  • LOL!

Oh, I get it. So no one who is successful should give advice?
Only people who have failed in life can give advice to people on how to live theirs?
That has to be one of the stupidest things that I have heard from you delphidiots, and that’s saying a LOT!
That’s like saying that teachers shouldn’t be smarter than their students because it will make them feel bad.
Or that economic advisers should be poor so that people will respect their opinions.
Or that dermatologists should have bad skin so that they don’t make their patients don’t feel bad.
    Too funny.

  • ilia

    Who is this anorexic b**ch!?

  • LOL!

    “SHE can’t talk”
    YOU said this?
    SHE can’t talk?
    OK, maybe it’s a language barrier, but……
    pot, meet kettle
Oh, and “lot of people say bad things about her”?
Really? Because everyone that has worked with her have nothing but praise for her. They mention her professionalism, her courtesy and her kindness. The idiots on delphi saying “bad things” about a woman that they have never met doesn’t count.

  • xxx

How is she successful? Not like she actually does anything but wake up, get make up and clothes put on, stand around on a beach or on a set get pictures taken then go home… wow it baffles the mind how much hard work it must have taken for her to have her career.. please… comparing Miranda to dermatologists and economic advisers hahahaha……
