Salma Hayek Pinault covers InStyle magazine’s June 2010 issue, on newsstands Friday (May 21).
Here’s what the 43-year-old Grown Ups actress had to share:
On changing her name to Salma Hayek Pinault: “It was [daughter] Valentina‘s request. I didn’t think about it until she brought it up. We were shooting a film, and she saw my chair with my name on it. She said, ‘What does it say there?’ And I said, ‘Salma Hayek.’ And she said, ‘What about Pinault? Why not Pinault?’ Because here people say ‘Madame Pinault.’ I said to myself, ‘ This is who I am now. I’m starting a whole new life. I’ve never been happier. Why shouldn’t I share it with the people who have been supporting me my whole career, who have been with me since the beginning? ‘ I’m a private person, but I should let them in on the fact that I’m a different person, and a better person. It’s a new life.”
On whether there are cultural differences between her and her husband, Francois-Henri Pinault: “Nooo, I love him. I ridiculously love him. He makes it easy for me. He’s so open, and his family is too-so international-and fascinating and warm. I only speak French to his children. I don’t know how, but they understand my French. Plus, he and I have the same interests, which is wonderful. Like soccer.”
On whether she’d ever have plastic surgery: “No surgical tweaks. No Botox either. Look. [She raises her eyebrows.] I think it is terrible, these girls in their late 20s injecting their faces and lips. One told me, ‘If I kill my muscles now, I’ll never get wrinkles.’ Can you imagine?”

Even though Hayek comes from oil money in Mexico, I would think that the Pinault name has more value globally plus her daughter is now a Pinaut and seems to want to gravitate to that name..at least for now

As for the plastic surgery comments, I call bu!!$&&t.
Salma absolutely has had work done and done very well, actually. They’re sometimes called mini-lifts or “enhancements,” usually around the eyes and the cheekbones. It’s the exact same thing George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Susan Sarandon and Jennifer Aniston have had done. There are some people like Cameron Diaz and Meg Ryan who get terrible results from the wrong procedures and docotors who aren’t that good. The whole trick is for us to not be able to tell the difference. They are supposed to just look well rested and healthier. Riiigght.
I like Salma. She’s a beauty, and she’s always been a beauty, but even beauties need a little help after 40. I do agree with her about these fools in their 20′s and 30′s.

It is so annoying when celebrities believe their offspring to have supernatural abilities..I find it hard to believe that her 3 yr-old daughter , only born in 2007 can read ” Salma Hayek Pinault” and talk like that! Salma is making a mockery of our intelligence!

re the 20 y/o’s comments about freezing muscles w/botox – such is the plight of the idiot; not realizing that if one muscle is frozen, compensatory usage of untreated muscles occurs, such that unless 100% of the muscles in the face are treated, wrinkling WILL happen, and it will occur in very odd ways. these latter day dorian gray wannabes have zero sense.
I’m pretty sure she had breast augmentation. That was the hot topic when she had her daughter b/c folks were asking if she could breastfeed after having implants put in.

I do not know what are you so jealous??? Mr. Pinault hat stated in many interviews that he did all possible and imposible to date her. Salma is a great girl and has worked very hard to be where she is. Hispanic women are not different than western girls…this is all bad “stereotype” and “prejudice”. She has worked very hard to change this bad imagine that Hollywood had from hispanich women. People stereotype because of the need to feel good
