Nick Jonas: LES MISERABLES West End Debut!

Nick Jonas will be making his West End theatre debut at London’s Queen’s Theatre starting June 21, his rep confirms to JustJared.com.

The 17-year-old Jonas Brother will play the role of Marius in Les Miserables.

Nick said, “The amazing [theater producer] Cameron Macintosh reached out to me last year about portraying the role of Marius in London at the West End. When I was ten years old I was in Les Miserables [on Broadway] as Gavroche. On my closing night in 2003 I told my parents that I would come back to be Marius one day. It is truly a dream come true.”

Teabaggers are upset because we have a man that knows what he is doing in the White House.
It must suck to be you.

California is booming with green jobs thanks to our President.

Yes his wife is ugly as hell.
I couldn’t believe it when I saw her in the audience.
He could have had anybody and married that thing.

making nick jonas marius is like a slap in the face to all the previous actors who ever played marius. He should stick to singing his joe bro songs and leave this stuff to the pros

Great job Nick! Amazing accomplishment. Cameron Mackintosh stated he asked Nick to come back to Les Miserables and take on the role of Marius. According to Cameron, he knew Nick would be back one day to play the role.

I wish I lived in London so I could see the play. Hopefully it will be recorded so we can purchase the full play.

You do realize he used to be known as the Broadway Kid. He still holds the record for the most Broadway shows for anyone under the age of 11! He has performed on Broadway in Sound of Music, Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, Annie Get Your Gun, and A Christmas Carol.

Have you ever performed on Broadway? I love how people pass judgement with no knowledge. Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed production of Les Miserables is celebrating it’s 25th year. He asked Nick to take on the role. I think he probably has more knowledge if Nick Jonas is capable.

well duh... @ 05/28/2010 at 12:49 am

i have a feeling he will do a good job, out of the three of the brothers, he is probably the most talented of all of them, and the one who is the most likeable as a person…GOOD LUCK ON THE WEST END NICK J!!!!

He definitely has to be the favorite Jonas Brother. He has his own band, he gets his own jobs, his own awards. And he’s the best looking.

Now that I think of it, Nick Jonas is to the Jonas Brothers as Justin Timberlake was to N’Sync.

amazinggggggggggg

Nick pushes himself and will do well at this. Cameron Mackintosh wouldn’t do this just because he is Nick Jonas. He knows Nick and what he is capable of doing. I’m glad he got to fulfill another of his dreams. He’s talented.

Wrong blog Jared

I am delighted for Nick and know that he will play the part very well. I didn’t expect him to make a return to theatre so soon so this was a complete surprise. Can’t wait to see it.

I’m so happy for him getting the part. And the fact the producer chose him is an amazing achievement.

He deserves all the success he’s got though, he’s a really talented guy. Moreso than his brothers i must admit, although i like Joe and Kevin too.

I’m sure he’ll do well anyway, i’d go and see it if i could.. :)

Lucky Nick – that is where all the gays hang out in London!!!!!!

@Obamalover:

WTF? This is a post about Nick Jonas – bring your political bull $hit somewhere else.

On another note, congratulations Nick, you will be great back to your broadway roots.

@Meghan:

I agree with Julie & you are an a$$.

Nick was amazing on Broadway – I saw him when he was on Broadway as a kid. Congrats Nick!

@redT:

She is NOT ugly. She is a very sweet girl and btw she looks like Hail Duff.

Get a life and leave this couple alone. Kevin married his soulmate and is very happy.

@cam:
She is ugly as HELL.

why are people being v mean on here?

oh i cant wait for this :D
im going to see it with my best friend.

does anyone know if he will be performing in the matinee as well as evening shows?

@Obamalover:

Love those comments. It shows that libs are really out of touch with reality and engage in magical thinking – totally divorced from reality. California booming with green jobs? Just like Spain which lost 2.2 jobs for each green job created! Gotta get in touch with reality ands give up the magical Thinking.

OMG SO SO EXCITED, just got tickets to see him ahh

This is awsome my school just put on les miserable adn anyone i ask has never seen it… i hope there is going to be a movie of les miserable with nick in it. I had preformed as Madame Thenardier. :D

Its Pleasure to read your weblog.The above articles is incredibly amazing, and I really enjoyed reading your weblog and points that you simply expressed. I love to arrive back on the standard basis,post extra within the subject.Thanks for sharing…maintain writing!!!

I am a big Les MIserables fan and I happened to come across the taping of this show on PBS tonight. As I was watching it I knew Marius looked familiar but I couldnt put my finger on it, he did his part soooo well and after looking at him closer I realized it might be a Jonas brother, so I googled it and sure enough. This kid deserves some credit, he is not just some mmmbop punk rock pop wannabe, he is a a d*#% good performer!
