Hugh Jackman Hits Broadway's 'Stories About McAlary'?
Hugh Jackman may be heading back to Broadway!
The 41-year-old Aussie actor recently read for the title role in Stories About McAlary, a Nora Ephron-penned play about the life of New York Post and Daily News columnist Mike McAlary.
The reading was directed by Mike Nichols and also starred Sarah Paulson and Richard Kind, according to the New York Post.
Hugh would play a “tough, heavy-drinking tabolid newspaper columnist” – that’s definitely a change from his past roles!
DO YOU THINK this would be a good opportunity for Hugh?

Hugh Jackman has a journalism degree ( apart from a drama degree), so why not?
Again, a good departure from previous roles onstage or onscreen! However, this is not a sure thing, as there is also the possibility of Hugh doing a new stage musical HOUDINI.
I would pay to see Hugh Jackman read the phone book. Anything he does on Broadway is ok with me. It’s a good change of pace, and I will go to see him in this play, but I would rather him in a musical. He is hot hot hot.
Well, Houdini needs more time to prepare for and it can’t be a short running I suppose. So this play is OK and it agrees with his plans for 2011-2012 very well. Anything he does I’ll be there, but of course I still dream about Houdiny thogh.
Cheers.
He will do just fine because he’s a such a complex actor! This is just an other way of growing in he’s carrier. I can’t wait to see this play! Goooood luck!

I AGREE !!!!! And…. I have a phone book !
I think Hugh is excellent in any part he plays. This should be right up his alley, he has a journalism degree, so I think he will really enjoy doing this play. But, then, Hugh enjoys all his roles!!! (and so do I)
I would really like to know the opening nite date!! I need to book my flight!!!
It’s a good change of pace, and I will go to see him in this play, but I would rather him in a musical. He is hot hot hot.
