Matt Damon: We Bought A Zoo!
Matt Damon is in talks to play a British zookeeper in the new movie, We Bought A Zoo, based on the best-selling memoir by Benjamin Mee.
The story goes… Mee buys a dilapidated zoo in the English countryside with over 200 exotic animals. His wife dies of brain cancer but his kids and the healing power of the zoo animals help him through the tough times.
Helming the project for 20th Century Fox is director Cameron Crowe (Jerry Maguire, Vanilla Sky).

I hope won’t be another cheesy, emotionally manipulative, cliche movie about moving on after the death of a loved one. Who am I kidding.. even if it is I’ll still be bawling.
poor guy, he married beneath him.
not matt! have you checked his box office record!
I love Matt! I’ll watch any movie he’s in.
Thank God for people like that man who care for animals enough to do something!
Matt Damon is the new Ben Affleck – except Ben married UP while Matt knocked up a stripper. He’s a no-talent hack pimping anything for a paycheck. Matt – face it – your career ended with Jason Bourne. Now might be a good time to find out what your (and your wife’s) kids are up to.
I love, love, love this movie idea! How wonderful and humane. Will definitely go see this film.
Hahahahahahahahahaha this funny
Matt ur soo funny
I’m a little disappointed that this won’t be filmed in Dartmoor Zoo…but its awesome that two big stars are playing leading roles in a film based on Benjamin Mee’s book! I’ve visited the zoo a couple of times since Ben bought and reopened the zoo, and while there have been many impressive improvements there is still some concerning issues regarding some of the animals enclosures. I’m sure they are keen to carry on making improvements to the zoo, but they are having financial problems of late and it is expensive enough just to look after the animals. I hope that this film will help bring some much needed income for the zoo!
I live fairly local to the zoo, and went to a talk Ben himself gave about his book. It was really insightful.
The zoo story feels magical especially if it engages that playful zest of the animals.
