    Impressive, really

  • Jean L

Wow, I am impressed.. I thought he did a pretty good job with the dance moves (MJ will always be the best but he did pretty good).. the crying bit seemed a bit scripted though? Still great performance :)

  • KellStar

I think the guy was just overwhelmed to be back on stage and getting a warm reception. Plus he idolized Michael and was torn up over not getting to do a tribute last year. The tears being scripted is too brilliant a PR move. Nothing I’ve seen from him the past couple years shows he has even a competent PR team.

  • lulu

    PR Stunt.

  • Jessie

MJ was his idol and MJ loved Chris even when died. So the world to denied him of this tribute last year. So I think he just wear his heart on his sleeve and left it all on that stage. I was beyond impressed. He’s a great performer. Say whatever you want about him but you can never deny his talent. I salute him for that.

  • thatGirl

Scripted? Sorry but Chris isn’t that good of an actor. This was amazing. He finally got a real chance to show his idol love and respect. If people actually listened to the words of Man in the Mirror maybe they would understand. Chris was a kid only 19 when all of this happened. Forgive him. He is trying to better his life. He really is making a change. Great comeback Chris. We’ve missed you.

  • justsayno

you go chris, you show those haters what your about

    im very proud of you

  • roxi

He did a great job, michael would be proud. Those tears are real, i remember chris saying how much he loved michael even when it wasn’t cool to.

  • http://h Kaz

    Wow enjoy chris brown

  • Jenny

I don’t like Chris Brown much -he’s kind of a douche- but the guy has talent. He can sing well and he can dance well and he did a killer MJ tribute.

  • linna

he is totally talented and wonderful.. and he is becoming a good person!!!!

  • Jasper

Come on tho – the show must go on. I feel a true performer would have sucked it up and got through the song.

  • kraken

    not fooling anyone!

  • Bella

Chris did a very good job and so touching his performance, especially when he sang “man in the miror” I love this song and i miss MJ…..
CB is talented singer – well comeback CB.

  • linna

@lulu get a life you fu*cking hater.. if you dont like him.. he made mistakes but we are human we are not perfect .. but he did apologize and he is becoming a better person.. and thats about our life to learn on your mistakes and to become a better person!!!!

  • SereneBey

OMG> That was not a PR! No grown man in the hip-hop business is going to CRY on national tv. He clearly broke down. He knows he did wrong. Everyone deserves a second chance. no one forgets what he did, but that doesn’t mean he should live the rest of his life having to prove himself. He did a great job, and i still love him. No matter what you cant deny his talent. R.I.P. michael. “I just wanna say one thing,’ he concluded. “I let y’all down before but I won’t do it again, I promise. I love y’all, good night.” I believe him!

  • J.

You can’t deny talent and he is TALENTED.

  • Sunshine

i am soooooo proud of him and so would michael jackson if he was still alive. chris is such a talented person. love him so much <3

  • cee

    He’s lip syncing.

  • Dreads

Have you seen his moonwalk? Now, compare it to Rihanna’s XDD Ha! Aww That performance was touching. You can tell how much he loves MJ. Love it.

  • anna

Charlie sheen got a comeback in two seconds, all is forgotten because he has a hit show, but Chris nope, for some reason he must remain a pariah for the rest of his life

  • Mirena

    Good job!!! Amazing dance.

  • goolie jones

  • http://Justjared Slig

    Yeah but michael best dance

  • hhmm

I think it was sincere. He was a young kid with Rihanna, he admitted he’s wrong and got help. Let’s move on.

Wow, what a sheer act of desperation to garner attention for a dimming career. It is nothing but a PR stunt. That is all people.

  • Go Ask Alice

Verdict is out on his career. I don’t see it going up.
Rhianna might be on her way out in another 2 years.
    YEah,shut up.
Anyone remember Ja Rule, Ashanti, Brandy?
It is the market, marketing /pr depts., audience of these people, ageoftheaudience that changes and then a new aged audience wants their entertainers, , and the business in general.

    CB,the crying,contrived.

  • Go Ask Alice

Why does this feral looking child not wear shoes?
    Hair never combed?
    Carries a blanket?
    Drinks out of a bottle?
Is , at 4 yrs. old, always carried by Cruise and Stepford wife?

  • Go Ask Alice

wrong post.the page moved back here.

  • bilyana

i loved this!what an amazing performance.chris clearly made a big mistake but it is lame to keep critisizing him when even rihanna forgave him…hating and sabotaging him is only a waste of a great performer to the public

  • groovacious

    Wow that was really good.

  • the truth

Need to move on people. You would have done the same thing. You all got to forgive and forget. His ex has moved. And she didn’t have the guts to do what he did.Jesus died for us and he foegive us for what we do everyday. Really like the tribute he did for Micheal jackson.

  • Cristobal

  • mailey

that is realy really sad. i can understand. if ur idol died thatd be pretty traumatic.

  • offtheproperty

There are a lot of worse thugs in the entertainment industry than him. I think he was somehow in search of an identity when he beat Rihanna. Like a gang initiation. Looks like he really cares about being a good black man. It’s not an easy thing to do at this time in this place.

  • anon

I think put it best (and no Im not affiliated in any way)…”Last night wasn’t for Michael. Last night was for Chris. Chris Brown exploited an opportunity to honour music’s King of Pop for his own comeback purposes. Chris Brown leveraged the commemoration of Michael Jackson’s death into an attempt at redemption for himself. Forgiveness? Save your forgiveness. Chris Brown hasn’t changed. Still.”

    Amen Lainey.

  • anon

Not buying it but bravo on the PERFORMENCE. He showed little to no genuine remorse and or contrition or understanding of his actions after he was caught beating his girlfriend black and blue. Even RHIANNA herself in an interview said he didnt get how bad his actions really were. So he made a deal with the Jackson family to script a ‘moment’ to get him back in the headlines and repair his image. MJ represented and deeply believed in peace and non-violence, and not just for certain skin colours. Chris Brown has shown nothing in actions to represent this.

  • Deedz

He’s truly an amazing performer, and I loved it. Even felt sympathy for him. But the fact is, is that he took a moment that was designed to commemorate Michael, and turned it into a moment about HIM.

  • mailey

maybe it’s to do with his own personal stuff. but even if not…

i get teary about MJ if only for the loss of his children.

and im not a performer. i can only imagine if i was, and was heavily influenced by him.. and then performing his work..

that would really hurt! so id prolly break down like this dude.

  • lee

@Jean L: “Pretty Good” how about AWESOME……his interpretations were outstanding and no, the tears came from his soul, his performance drained him and left him like he was made over. That young man is a natural performer and i can only assume that he imitated Micheal and others when he was young

  • Mari

    IDIOT…..he wants attencion…..hauhuahuahaaa tears RIDICULOUS

  • Nora

Jared is on a Chris Brown kick again… ugh

  • Chrissy

So here’s the thing whenever i see MJs performances now i get teary eyed… he’s the freaking KING of POP… and I was never a die hard MJer…so imagine if you were… imagine if everything the man did touched or moved you and then he died… people get choked up all the time reading or singing at funerals… hell Usher broke down during his performance at the “funeral” last year… if he means that much to them then noone and I mean NOONE can claim he’s not sincere… I LOVED the perfomance and he had me in tears right along with him! I am so happy BET did it right this year and let him honor him right… half that sh!t last year was a mess but this year they honored the man the way they were supposed to… with someone that MJ respected and vice versa! Great Job CB!!!

  • Aspen

Jared I would like to commend you on the fantastic pics that were chosen for this segment. Absolutley fantastic !!!

I think the tears were a “release” of all that he has gone through, in the past year and 1/2.

  • sharylmj

Chris Brown deserves another chance, he has paid the price for what he did.. He’s an awesome talent.. it’s really sad what he has done to his career… THE GUY IS SOOOO TALENTED… hope he stays on track and proves to the world that people can change. Welcome back Chris… I don’t think those were fake tears.. he LOVED MJ.. just has everyother fan did.. and yes the lyrics to “man in the mirror ” probably really hit home at that moment..

  • sharylmj

Chris Brown deserves a second change, he has paid the price for what he did… HE IS SO TALENTED.. it’s a shame what he did to his career. I really don’t think those tear were fake, he is a GIANT fan of MJ and has said so many times how much he idolized him. It was awesome to see him on stage again!! GO CHRIS.. prove to the world that people can change if they are given the chance and the tools..

  • sharylmj

sorry about the double comment.. I didn’t think the first one went through..

  • me(:

He did an amazing job! I’m so proud of him! ;-D
