Michael Vartan: Awesomely Awkward Craig Ferguson Interview!

Michael Vartan stops by The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson Thursday (July 1) and has an hilariously awkward interview.

The 41-year-old actor was there to talk about his show HawthoRNe, but wound up talking about everything from crack staffs, his tattoos, his mixed heritage, and accordion players vs. piano players!

At one point in the interview, there was a two-minute lull in the conversation where Michael and Craig laughed to fill in the silence.

Great interview, I always wondered why this guy (MV) never made it bigger. I’m glad to see he’s on a new show.

Wow….just shows you yet another reason why Craig Ferguson shouldn’t be a talk show host. My family went to go see a taping, and he was horrible back then! Poor Michael Vartan had to sit uncomfortably with him. You would think that a talk show host would have some class and make the guest star comfortable. Nope!

Are you being sarcastic…or have you not seen Craig Ferguson any time lately? Let’s say……the past two years?
This standard for most of his interviews, and it is usually planned out ahead of time. He knows the actors. It started wayyyyy back with Stephen Wright and was so effing funny. (No one can beat the comraderie with those two, some of the funniest have Eddie Izzard).
    It’s comedy…for a new generation.
If you don’t get it, watch Leno.

Poor Michael, he just doesn’t have what it takes to be a big star. He has a sense of humor but was obviously too nervous to let loose. He has got to do better that than if he wants to make it in this business. Good looks can only take you so far. It takes allure, quick wit and charisma. Craig was probably wondering who this guy was and why he was there in the first place.

I say this, because Craig is the best ever. He cracks me up.

God, Michael Vartan is so cute. On the flip side, that ferguson guy is the most unfunny pile of crap ever. People actually wach his show? And enjoy it? Baffling…

tbh i didn’t think varten was doing badly, he was answering thingys questions and had the banter going until the scottish guy was making a lame **** job of interviewing, craig F just played off his awkwardness near the end.

what is wrong with you people i want to see you guys go onto a famous tv show and talk to a famous talk show host and see how you do! some of you people just are to caught up in yourselves you dont look at the big picture! idiots

    JanetCoop Says:

Michael Vartan is usually very personable, on talk shows: also cute, sweet, funny and SEXXY AS HELL!! Craig used to be much funnier, but here he was just an obnoxious prick…He’s falling in love with the sound of his own voice, and he may be back on the bottle, too…

Go to YouTube & watch Michael’s interviews on Carson Daly especially “MV on CD” — where he talks about his days hustling pool…Watch the Rove clip, with Radha Mitchell, watch his Regis & Kelly clips (one from July 10th), and the ones from Craig Kilborn…You will see it isn’t Michael who’s the “dud,” it’s CraigyFerg the a**hole who’s at fault…

Either that, or Craig & Michael set this up to deliberately look bad (Michael was looking Craig in the eye the whole time…is it possible that this was all a big straight-faced JOKE on us??)…Michael is a master of the deadpan delivery (watch the ALIAS blooper reels or the “This Woman Is A Sex Maniac” bit with Wanda Sykes on an ’05 clip from “The View”)…

    @KellStar: He’s not @Bobby:
,Bobby is so right about Ferguson. He is a lousy, bored, and boring host. I am sick of his stupid ass banter with a robot. You can bet they will say “in your pants “over and over, as if he thinks that is funny. It is stupid. He does the same thing EVERY NIGHT. Why play that harmonica with every guest, or the awkward pause.? I swear he does all this to do less actual work of entertaining his audience. It is the WORST show I ever saw. Why would anyone watch him? He also does nonsense with puppets…..why? And what’s his big deal with a snake mug that almost pokes him in the eye as he drinks…..again….not funny. Rarely has he ever read more than a few emails and loves tossing them on the floor. And why does he show off each time a guest comes out, by shredding the info sheet that a staff member has prepared for him. What a JERK! I guess I pass by his show to see how annoying he is because his show is a waste of time to watch with him as the host. He just does not seem to like being there. There must be other who find him so annoying. As Bobby said, it is baffling how anyone can wathc his show.
