Chris Pine: 'Lieutenant of Inishmore' Locked and Loaded!
Chris Pine is armed and dangerous in these new stills from the Martin McDonagh play, The Lieutenant of Inishmore.
The black comedy is a blistering, graphic satire on violence set in 1993 on the rocky island of Inishmore. Padraic (Pine), a hard-boiled terrorist, has been away in Northern Ireland with his busy schedule of torture and assorted nationalist mayhem, but he is lured home to Inishmore by the news that his beloved cat, Wee Thomas, is doing poorly. When Padraic finds out Wee Thomas has been murdered, he initiates a cycle of revenge-killing that threatens everyone in his path, except perhaps the love-struck Mairead (Zoe Perry), a 16-year-old terrorist groupie with a BB gun.
The Lieutenant of Inishmore started previews at the Mark Taper Forum on June 30, opens July 11 and continues through August 8, 2010. Tickets are available at CenterTheatreGroup.org!

hahha
aren’t this old? i’ve seen them on tumblr for days now
I can’t wait to go and see this show!
…This guy was in a HUGE blockbuster movie, something that would have turned any actor into a big A-Lister, and this is what he does after that?!? WTF! Anyone else would have followed Star Trek with another big project.
Fabulous play. Bizarrely funny. Martin Mcdonagh is my favorite playwright.
He’s hot and actually has a really charming funny personality. Not just the typical dumb hot guy
@I n F a m o u s l y C o o l: This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever read. Chris loves theater and it’s great that he still does it.
Normally I find this shortie fugly with his crazy eyebrows and duck lips but he looks hot there.
Love him, beautiful, smart and actually in it for the acting rather than the perks.
Cool pictures! I really like that one.
Great play. great to see someone who could just go on to do big movies do something with substance in the theatre
@leah: Oh yeah, why make big blockbuster movies when you can do theater (Not on Broadway) hahahahahaa… People do theater for two reason..
-
1: They CANT do anything else.
2: They’re already so successful in film they want to try something different, for fun. and he’s no where near that level of success
@I n F a m o u s l y C o o l: He just finished filming a movie with Denzel Washington, has one with Reese Witherspoon and Seth Rogen in pre-production, Star Trek will start filming at the end of the year, and he’s preparing for his role as Jack Ryan. The man is spending his summer doing theater. He tends to do that in between projects.
I’m failing to see the problem spending his off time doing something he loves and honing his craft.
Iam sooo beautiful boy and handsom
AWESOME CP ALWAYS!!!….of course!!!…Wow! Cool pics!!!
@I n F a m o u s l y C o o l: WHAT???… Denzel Washington does theater… Hugh Jagman does theater ….Jude Law does theater….Daniel Craig….sir Patrick Stewart and more….. just great actors so….. hahahahaha for you too!!!
I went to see it on the 4th. I really only went to see his hotness in person but I actually really liked it!! He is even hotter in person which is a plus!
gosh I love Martin McDonaugh’s writing, I want to see this so bad! Such a limited release though!
love him! wish I could see this show live! it seems like bizarre fun!
The REAL CHRIS PINE this time and great pics, thanks JJ!! Yeah I would love see him on stage, this play seems to be so interesting!
chris looks great. in my opinion, he’s extremely sexy, talented, and charismatic. it makes him even more attractive that he does theatre and thought-provoking work rather than jumping from one blockbuster to the next.
@Dee: hahahaha fcuking tard. you’re naming huge a-listers who’re on a level where they can do whatever they want. LIKE I SAID BEFORE – Chris Pine isn’t on that level. jackass! hahahahahahaha
@I n F a m o u s l y C o o l: Well….. I LIKE CP <3 <3 <3!!!… and surely all these a-listers actors respect CP for his choice( to be on stage)!!!…..sorry for anything!!!
dexter morgan
@hmm:
Why do you call him a shorty? He is 6 foot or 6′ 1″. By Hollywood standards that is pretty tall.
