Michael Vartan: Do As The Romans Do

Michael Vartan attends the Rome Fiction Fest held at the Adriano Cinema in Rome, Italy on Monday (July 5).

The 41-year-old French-American actor took part in the international festival dedicated to highlighting actors and producers of television fiction.

At the event, Michael spoke a little bit about his show HawthoRNe and how he thinks it stands out from other medical dramas.

“What we like to think makes our show different from the rest of the medical shows is that it is told through variety,” Michael shared during an open table discussion. “A lot of the shows deal with doctors and the surgeons, the people who can give and take life, but our show is told through the eyes of a nurse…who are the people that really care for the patients and sick people.”

what a jerk, is he saying that doctors don’t really care for the patients and the sick people? Either he is a jerk or stupid. Probably both to say such a dumb thing.

Gosh you do not seem to understand what he is saying at all Alie or maybe you don’t want to. Michael said to repeat “A lot of the shows deal with doctors and the surgeons, the people who can give and take life, but our show is told through the eyes of a nurse…who are the people that really care for the patients and sick people.” Let me repeat he said “doctors and the surgeons, the people who can give and take life”. He naturally has acknowledged the doctors. May be next time you should read and understand what he says before spouting.

Thank you so much for the photos that man is just phenomenal. I love the comment you have quoted, Michael states the premise of the show so well. I have always liked the fact that Michael Vartan of all the actors I have heard is witty, intelligent and articulate. Some people might not understand his wit, which is a pity. Please give us more photos.

@sunshine1: this is what he said “the eyes of a nurse…who are the people that really care for the patients and sick people” I have also seen him in interviews talking about how the nurses do all the work and really run the hospital – guess what he has no idea what he is talking about and neither do you -he just promoting a dumb show that wouldn’t be around if it weren’t for Jada and her husband. If he had any clue how hard it is to train to be a doctor and work as one he wouldn’t say such stupid things. He just doesn’t get it. I stand by what I wrote.

@Alie: Oh, for heaven’s sake, lighten up! When he says “care for” he means that it’s the nurses who do all the front-line, practical work for patients. It’s the nurses that see patients ’round the clock, not the doctors. Nobody is disputing the skill and dedication of doctors, Michael is just saying that nurses do all the “heavy lifting” when it comes to patient care and they seldom get the credit or recognition they deserve. I’ll assume that English isn’t your first language and that’s why you’ve misconstrued Michael’s meaning. I’ll also assume you’re neither a doctor nor a nurse. I myself am a resident in a large Atlanta hospital, and I can assure you the nurses do a lot more patient-care (it’s called “nursing” btw) than any doctor does. The doctors use their skill to save lives; nurses use theirs to maintain it. Got it? Good!
