OlderDev Patel: 'Airbender' Paris Photocall
Dev Patel flashes a smile at the Bristol Hotel in Paris, France on Friday (July 9).
The 20-year-old actor was at the hotel with fellow Last Airbender co-stars Jackson Rathbone, Nicola Peltz and director M. Night Shyamalan doing a press photocall.
It’s been a busy week for Dev and his co-stars – they premiered The Last Airbender in Tokyo just three days ago.
FYI: Dev is also featured in a new photo spread in July’s issue of GQ magazine.

I just don’t understand how they can still promote this movie. It has an 8% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Yeah this movie needed a new writer, director, and cinematographer. Only good things were the production design and the fights.

This is why Emma Watson’s one of the smartest actresses. Hear me out. She says that she doesn’t do a movie just because the script/plot sounds cool, or just for the sake of doing a movie. She says she has to feel really good about the movie’s she does, she has to connect with the script. That’s why she’s an amazing actress. You can see the way she plays the characters that she tried to connect with them. Alright, she’s only played 2 or 3 different characters, but she plays them DAMN WELL! She hasn’t done a lot of movies while doing Harry Potter, but she is smart. I don’t know how Dev Patel got into this movie, it’s very random, but he probably thought. “Hey, it has action, it’s in 3D, it’s like avatar, this movie will make TONS of money”. Which is exactly what I thought before I read the reviews.
If Emma chooses her movies wisely, and they’re mainstream and they get good reviews, she’ll be BIG! Maybe mostly in England than here, but still, BIG!

I don’t think Emma Watson is a good actress. I might be wrong since the only thing I’ve seen her in is the Harry Potter movies, but it’s not like Twilight where there’s no possible way to save the material. Rupert Grint is always effective and Dan is usually pretty solid, too. Emma however, for at least 5 of the films overacts constantly. It’s like her eyebrows are getting ready to take flight off her face. THe only film where she impressed me was Half Blood Prince.
That said, I admire her as a person. She seems like a sweet, mature girl and regardless of being one of the highest paid actresses of her generation, she’s not out spending ridiculous amounts of money on stupidthings like lingerie. She’s going to college because she seems to value education and she’s also not cursing in interviews dressing revealingly in order to prove she’s an adult That’s why I respect her.
