Mark Ruffalo: Hulk in The Avengers!

Mark Ruffalo is thisclose to playing The Incredible Hulk in the upcoming superhero ensemble flick, The Avengers.

According to Deadline, the 42-year-old actor is in late negotiations with Marvel to take on the role.

Mark would be replacing Edward Norton, who recently weighed in on not continuing with the Hulk franchise.

Mark has been getting rave reviews for playing a sperm donor in the Julianne Moore-Annette Bening starrer The Kids Are All Right, which opened last weekend. And for good reason — the movie’s phenomenal!

Things are certainly on the up and up for Mark!!!

Ruffalo is hot… I’m just not sure how well he’ll do as the Hulk. I guess we’ll all find out.

If we can’t have Edward then this is actually a good choice.

Mark Ruffalo is perfect. His charm and comedic timing and ability to also play drama (see Shutter Island and The Brothers Bloom) makes him a perfect addition to the cast. It would be so amazing to see him on screen with RDJ!

I can’t picture him transforming into the Hulk with the famous “dont get me angry” line. Coming from him would be comedic even if its not meant to be. They should really work things out with Ed Norton cause this film may not be received well by audiences that loved Norton’s Hulk.

I loved Edward’s Hulk. Though if he is not going to be it,Mark is a good choice. Great actor! Hope you don’t screw this one up Marvel.

I didn’t like that they dropped Ed Norton, but Ruffalo is a fantastic actor. He gave great performances in You Can Count on Me and Zodiac. Not a bad replacement at all.

Ruffalo is going to suck … hollywood is going to screw this movie up bigtime … they might as well hire Arnold Schwarzenegger to play a bad guy and alicia silverstone to play a useless sidekick.
