Here is your first look of Ryan Reynolds as the green superhero Green Lantern, compliments of EW. Here’s what the 33-year-old spilled (per usual, his quotes are hilarious):
On the perils of flying at high speed: “The first time you do it, you’re deeply considering an adult diaper.”
On maintaining a monk-like diet: “It’s all part of the job, so I guess I can’t complain. You spend one day a week eating what you want and the other six days eating drywall and wood chips.”
On wife Scarlett Johansson playing Black Widow in the Iron Man franchise: “We have a lot of comic books lying around the house – more than the average young married couple.”
On his face being plastered on green-hued products everywhere: “There’ll be the Green Lantern hubcaps. The Green Lantern terry-cloth onesie. The Green Lantern prostate check.”
Green Lantern is set for a June 17, 2011 release. It was directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) and co-stars Tim Robbins, Blake Lively, Mark Strong and Peter Sarsgaard.

If I were black I would be so pissed at this. The Green Lantern has traditionally been a black character. Like, the only one, and they get a white guy to play him in the movie? That blows.
Black? That’s ONLY if you’ve watched the Green Lantern in the JL cartoon! Do your research. Hal Jordan is white and was created in the 1950′s. There are many Green Lanterns. Including a black one and a hispanic one as well.

pretty cool. to be honest, the mask around his eyes is odd shaped but other than that it’s good. c’mon.. after seeing how bad those thor photos were this is a million times better. i see they’re going with a more cgi look. hope it doesnt suck like the original avatar [the last airbender] did

This is my opinion not necessarily fact.
Hollywood producers,executives etc,have every right to make legally
acceptable movies but i firmly beleive movies represent lead white character than any other group of people also i’ve notice through tv
and internet research that this country is becoming very diversed.
Do these executive think all americans are dumb. Nothing against ryan or actors but hollywood films seems unbalanced racially.

Green Lantern is a horrible “super hero” ..
It looks silly but hopefully with Reynolds in it , it will be cool I’d rather see him as Deadpool though continuing his role in the Wolverine movies (before he met Wolverine because Deadpool is kind of dead when Wolverine gets done with him.) It’s too bad he separated his shoulder on the set the other day though, that had t hurt. This will slow down filming for a while.
