Ridiculously MASSIVE!
Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth stars as Thor in the upcoming superhero flick of the same name, out May 6, 2011.
The Kenneth Branagh-directed movie also stars Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Jaimie Alexander and Stellan Skarsgard.
Chris sounded off on being at Comic-Con this year. “It’s a bit scary, the power and devotion they have,” he told USA Today. “A couple of months ago I was feeling secure and went online to see what people were saying. Some people loved we were doing a movie; some people already hated it. I’ll never read comments again!”

This movie looks ridiculous!
At first I was bitter and appalled that this role went to Chris Hemsworth instead Alexander Skarsgård. Now I’m thinking that Alex dodged a bullet by not being cast in this movie. It looks like it will be a terrible film!
..yeah, this movie is going to blow, big time. LOL.. they really dropped the ball with this guy. his ridiculous wig will be legendary. it’s Jacob Black [Taylor Lautner] bad.

..when i think of Thor i think of.. Alexander Skarsgård, or Brad Pitt in legends of the fall (perfect!!). this guy.. MASSIVE FAIL
Yeah, this movie does look really stupid. But even so, the thing will probably make money even though its a dog.

His arms ARE huge. I agree with @I n F a m o u s l y C o o l: that the wig looks silly, but maybe it’ll look different under lights, etc? Not sure what to make of the flick. Kenneth Branagh has done some good directorial work and Anthony Hopkins is superb, so I’ll defer an absolute opinion until later.

I’m so glad Alex isn’t going to be in this movie. At least in that Battleship movie with aliens and crap I get tons of eye candy with Taylor Kitsch. Hemsworth looks like a roided out mess.

his arms look ridiculous. come to think of it, the whole plot sounds ridiculous. how they got all these big names to be in it is beyond me.
This looks like it’s going to be a fun and thrilling movie to watch.

Give the movie a chance. Hemsworth is a decent actor and one who deserves the opportunity. He’s in good company with his fellow actors and a solid director. It can’t be worse than First Class appears to be, or worse than Last Stand was, in any case, so maybe it will strike closer to Iron Man than those.

Okayu people…quit bashing on poor chris, i’ve seen the preview and have to agree with havok2b, It could be better than Hulk, and way way better than Last Stand!!
Kenneth is a talented and competent director, Chris is very talented as well (Hot too!!), and the supporting acts -Natalie, Idris and the ever amazing Anthony Hopkins….I have faith that it will do well.
If by any chance Chris is rading this…..we love you here in Uganda and fingers crossed……May here we come!!
Hemsworth is a great actor with a lot of experience. He put on a lot of bulk as a commitment to the role of A NORSE GOD/SUPERHERO! In fact now he’s lost some size. Did you want Woody Allen to get the role?
Looks like a lot of fun – Giant robot monsters! What’s not to like?
