Speaking as an african who truly looks up to mandela i completly (or however you spell it ) disagree with the choice of terrence howard playing mandela. im not saying they should have picked an african actor just not terrence howard.

She’s a singer and actress. She has had music specials on television and is recording and making gust appearances for big events as a singer. . I don’t agree with Howard playing Mandela. Bad casting.

I have no doubt Jennifer and Terence are two very talented people, but as a South African, I am very disappointed at the choice of casting for Madiba and Winnie. It’s absolutely wrong!! People here are so angry about this that they’ve vowed not to go watch it. We have watched this happen over and over again, and it’s so annoying to say the least!! They could’ve used our talent here in SA and our actors and actresses could’ve gotten word wide exposure as well. There’s talent here in SA, and its so unfair that they choose not to use it, in our own stories!!!!

I also don’t get Howard as Mandela. I think he is talented, but I don’t think he has the range nor the physical looks to portray such a strong and distinct figure. Love Hudson as Winnie.. I guess the film is more about her anyway….
That’s screwed up. Terrible, terrible casting. Jennifer Hudson is a awful actress if that’s what you want to call her. I’m not planning on seeing this movie. She can barely master the English language let alone a foreign one!
Look I have the deepest respect for Nelson Mandela, but in todays world Winnie Mandela is nothing short of a criminal, a biopic on Nelson is great, but Winnie has lost all sense of self respect nowadays. Let’s not forget she was found guilty on 43 counts of fraud and 25 of theft. HONESTLY!!! I watched Invictus and enjoyed it … but I’m not going to watch this.
